Did you know that they are all made from the same lump of wood? The kudos comes from the wood-turning, not the decoration.
Or that the pictures in a set are all slighly different? One doll may have a basket of wheat, and another might have a loaf of bread.  |

i knew the term from the .MKV file extension, used in some popular media playing programs and applications. it's not a file format in itself, like MP4 and AVI, but a container the file is stored in. kinda like you open the lid and out pops the video file you need (via the use of a program such as VLC media player)

Matryoshka is associated in Russia with family and fertility. Matryoshka dolls are a traditional representation of the mother carrying a child within her and can be seen as a representation of a chain of mothers carrying on the family legacy through the child in their womb.
