People use a variety of tools and techniques to preserve their privacy etc, so im interested in the best approaches. I'm single and nothing much to hide except sites used, conversations and photos largely.
Anyone used a dual sim phone? You can have 2 phone numbers on one handset - so carrying 2, one the shag phone, not needed.
Photo locking apps - stops others seeing your own and received intimate pics.
How do you cover your tracks and keep yourself safer? |

"I can't handle one phone, let alone two, so it sounds like a good plan so long as you don't make a mistake and text back from the wrong sim."
I've wondered about dual sim but don't think Id like the hassle - though have friends who use 2 phones all the time as standard.
I'm curious about people's methodologies overall for some retention of their privacy. |

I use a app on my phone called look out and if I lose it I simple log onto the look out site and it will wipe my phone of everything and tell me where it is! Lesson learnt when I lost my old phone WITHOUT a pin on it! Didn't sleep for weeks lol |

"Best to have a play phone. Especially if you are a woman IMHO"
Other benefit of a play phone is you can leave it at home, removes temptation to make / take calls when others may be listening in. I also have a play tablet these days so fab is not on my home PC someone else may use to Google FAcebook, and get Fab up in the top of the search options. |

Although I leave my phone lying around I don't surround myself with nosey people so I'm safe ....
Saying that I do have a password protected folder on my phone for the more 'non kiddy friendly pics' |

Interesting range of approaches. I'm using windows 10 mobile atm, which is a bit more limited for apps. I think it's our behavioural changes that make the big differences, like restricting our own access. |

My pictures are in a hidden, private folder with a pin code.
My browser has secret mode. Whenever i come out of it, it locks with a password. It doesnt record my history either.
I dont give my number out but the one or two that have it their messages appear as 'Tips' and again go into a password protected inbox x
My phone also has fingerprint unlock xx |

I've been using a dual sim phone for best part of 3 years now although in my case it's my works number & my personal number.
Have different ringtones set up on each line so I don't have to look at the screen to determine which number an incoming call is coming in on.
Yes it is possible to mistakenly respond from the wrong number especially with texts but in my case that's not a huge issue.
Overall & IMHO DS phones are the way to go as they give more flexibility and so much less hassle than carrying 2 phones. |
