How can you apply for a job when you work 9 to 5, Monday to Friday?

I'm mainly thinking about attending interviews.

I've starting a temp job last week, which is for about 3 months. No leave can be granted, due to being the busiest time of the year, (working in the ISA dept of a bank), and calling in sick is not something I really want to do.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Try for evening interviews if possible

Can you not maybe explain to who ever you've applied to if they offer an interview and either get it for lunch breaks, or even a Skype session if they have that option?

Have you asked if they will allow you time out to attend interviews given that it's only a temporary contract?

Simply put your current working hours on your application, if they want you they can interview in a lunch break or over the phone before or after work etc. They will appreciate you not ducking work to go to interviews.

I think that's only if you're at risk of redundancy.

They don't have to give you time off for interviews, although if you're on a temp contract they may be slightly more understanding, but they do have to allow you time for medical appointments, doctors etc, although without pay obviously.

Yep. There is always a way round these things.

Well being a temp job I would expect you to be able to go for job interviews ., as long as u give a time that you need to be out I really don't think they can stop you . I maybe hugely wrong but I am sure they should understand . Good luck xxx

Seems the most sensible options.

Try n arrange outwith your current working hours but if that's not possible Just tell them you have a personal appointment,as long as you give as much notice as you can they might not be happy but fuck em.....thought we were past the 'workhouse/slave' practices of old!

Just get them told!
