Want to buy a decent webcam but don't know what to buy or how much we need to spend. When you ask in a shop the first question they ask is what are you using it for, do you tell them low light adult entertainment? I don't think so. Would Google this but Iphone internet been down for 3 days now.
Thanks in advance for your help. |

say it's for web chat. you don't need to elaborate any further than that.
no idea what you would buy, most are fairly decent and it's the internet speed what makes it look bad. |

Yes I wasn't playing too heavily on what to say in the shop, just wondered what type fellow Fabbers use. Should have said at present we are using a laptop with a built in cam it's ok but it's has got very limited functions. |

creative or logitech are the better known webcams as they have a better user interface
hd webcams are the new range but all depends on your megapixels and your internet connection on both ends
the one thing with them is its driver base is online only and some of there webcams wont work with the newer operating systems
same for the cheaper webcams brands |

my ASUS also has limited cam, i can only use is when asked while sing apps.
i did prefer my other cams - HP, Dell, toshiba, where i could also take pics if i wanted to, and use the cam any time i wanted to make videos.
just got my first USB cam but am using it for CCTV purposes and not as a webcam. so no idea what to advise but this cam i have could also stream video online. |
