Creatures with more than seven legs.

Also heights, but that's not quite as irrational as anyone who actually knows me can vouch for the fact that I am bloomin' clumsy and therefore liable to fall off!

Down escalators - I know it's because I was pushed onto one by an impatient adult as a child. I have to breathe deeply whenever I get on one, but make myself do it.

"I was talking to a lady and she fears mice.. teeny tiny mice..

It has gone now but I used to have a proper phobia for hearing about, or even worse seeing, animals getting hurt.

Couldn't watch the telly, couldn't watch the adds, couldn't listen to the radio, and if out and about I feared for seeing dogs in the streets with a limp or similar. Pidgeons too even, and they are almost all a bit crippled in the city!

It was quite debilitating and life is a lot easier now it has eased off.

I get tongue tied and break out into a sweat if I have to talk to the cashier in the supermarket.

Me too!

The underground is like being in hell for me - and I really hate the ones in department stores where they're up 5 floors with glass so you can see all the way down

I'm also scared of heights which probably has something to do with it!

I never used to be - it's old age

I don't have irrational fears really.

I spend most of days off work with phone plugs out and ignoring the door bell if it rings....... I love days alone and I would HATE uninvited guests to see me on a slobbing out day.

Water at night (rivers, sea, canals) scared a dead body will reach out and get me

Touching cheese. The stuff makes my skin crawl and how people can bring themselves to eat it mystifies me! When making my little nieces a sandwich, I have to try holding the block inside the wrapper and then cut it, before stabbing the slice with the knife end to drag it to the bread. All the while trying not to touch it and resist the urge to vom!

I have irrational fears of being abandoned or losing those dear to me.

I have always had to work very hard to keep them in check... But sometimes I can't.

It comes from my childhood and I know why... I also know that your more likely to lose someone if your constantly stressing about it... But.. The fear is very real to me x

I have a great fear of being hurt, of being humiliated or let down. It's the worst kind fear because it's so emotionally crippling. It tends to keep you down in life's shadows when all you're really longing for is the sun. Thankfully, I'm not afraid of the dark...

I used to have a debilitating phobia of spiders. I'm cured now after my GP referred me to a psychologist for CBT. It's the best thing I've ever done. I don't like them much now but the fear has gone and I can live without the panic attacks and sixth sense.
