"My heart goes out too all after a suicide bomber hit x"

A reminder that those with extremist ideologies are killing innocents everywhere and more so outside of Europe.

Having lived and worked in Pakistan on and off for 5 years, I am grateful to the OP for posting this and raising awareness that terrorism is a global issue.

We stand together, globally, against these crimes, the minute we fragment and point fingers of blame at entire populations or faiths, the terrorists win.

Thank you OP

Just because we're not 'involved' as civilians in this country there's a sense that WW3 isn't happening. But so much of the world is in war right now, surely it is?!

It's so much different from a lot of other wars, you don't see the enemy... All you see is a flash as your out shopping, on the bus or even in a concert.

Then darkness...

Those killed were not a particular religious group. The park was popular with people of all faiths (considering the overwhelming majority of people in Pakistan are not Christian). It was aimed at anybody that was enjoying a day off with their families, so they were aiming to kill as many as they can.

Everyone forgets that the definition of a Muslim is different for terrorists. So when a bomb goes off in Europe, European Muslims are just as affected but unless they run around half naked in the streets begging for forgiveness and shouting insults at the ones committing these crimes, they are seen to be just as responsible. For the terrorists, those people aren't Muslim because their engaging with western society.

When the far-right (and centre right for that matter now) punish, they punish the same Muslims living in their country. When restrictions are put in place, they punish the same innocent individuals. Have you tried travelling with brown skin or a Muslim sounding name? The number of security checks and refusals to board at the last minute is a complete joke. You get there in the end but not without major obstacles.

The final solution is to sent 'them' back to where they came from... And their 'homelands' are usually poor countries in debt due to capitalist global financial policies and foreign involvement in promoting corrupt governments (that's not one particular government as the problem is extremely complex and varies for each country), and where their chance of being blown up by the extremists that they seem to be accountable for.

Clearly the majority of Muslims throughout the world are stuck between a rock and a really hard place as a diaspora of people.

What a sensible and rational summary of the realities. I know people from a huge variety of backgrounds because of the place I work in. Neither muslims nor christians or jews or any religion for that matter would sanction such insanity and, as you said, if muslims did this atrocity they screwed other muslims more than Easter celebrating christians. That's the insanity with acts like these. The sad truth is that the so called "extremist" or "radical" islam comes from none other than our "allies" the Saudis. Atleast that's what I understand though I'm no political scientist.

Wherever or whoever, the people directing & carrying out such attacks are ultimately blood lust misfits who use any or reason excuse to abuse/maim/kill others. Whatever mass bstardised controlling psychotic ideology or cause sails past they'll get involved and if one doesn't, they'll make one up.

Sadly most people across the world get on with each other fine but the impacts of the above can suggest otherwise.

The words religion, cult are just their pathetic cover story's. Across the world it's not down to one religion or cult either despite what the media suggest.

Thought's for the innocents & victims x

"Jamaat-ul-Ahrar said it had targeted Christians celebrating Easter"

That's what they say. They also say lots of other crazy things and that's how they justify it in their crazy heads. The truth is, the vast majority hurt or killed were not Christians. This harms us all. It does so happen that because there were people celebrating Easter, it makes it a tragedy that people in Europe can relate to and 'humanise', hence the media coverage. Look at the school massacre in Pakistan and the minimal coverage that got... How many Facebook flags did you see then?

Terrorism has no faith, colour or creed and is present in extremists of all faiths.

FFS what is your problem? The people who planted the bomb said they were targeting Christians celebrating Easter. They also say any Muslim who does not convert or kill all Christians is not a true Muslim and that should also be killed.

The fact is Christians are the target. And anyone who is in the way is collateral damage, nothing more or less.

I'm sure it'll all work out it in the end. I mean these extremists are just going through a phase aren't they? It's not as if they are brain washed morons with no education apart from reading a story book and being told lies everytime they go to church, is it. Is it?

My problem?

Sorry I was just highlighting that this was the third terrorist attack on Pakistan this month alone with 27 dead in the last two.

Those didn't make it to any UK news, why?

Simply because they were not seen as attacks on anyone we care about. Like you said, everyone other than Christians were not people, just collateral.

They, the terrorists want division and for people to be isolated be that because of 'religion', colour, ethnicity etc..

the important thing is to not only recognise that but also to be united as people against such criminals..

RIP the innocent..

Everyone is touched by these events.

Problem is it creates other groups who want to fight back. Thus it creates more mayhem!

There are attacks of every nature, every week in Pakistan, from many rival factions in every province of the country. Those occurring in the south near Karachi are primarily concerned with business interests and mafia style activities. Those in Waziristan are over control of the permeable border with Afghanistan and the lucrative drugs trade. All across the country from FATA to Kashmir there are conflicts of an armed nature taking place.

Not because of religious ethos, its about power and wealth and control of land. Most of the time, these minor conflicts are ignored as they do not reach the larger urban conurbations. In general, life in many parts of Pakistan is peaceful, it is a beautiful country, with quite the most fantastic people, that are plagued by barbaric poorly educated people that see might as a solution to their inadequacies.

The people of Pakistan do not fear them, united, regardless of their faith or caste, they stand against them. ALL terrorists are power-hungry individuals that have rejected hard-work and recognised social values to strike the easy path to wealth and power, through fear. They have no gods, except that which they despise the most, the materialistic west and all its trappings of grandeur, oh the irony
