"Have been slightly manic last few weeks thought I was in control as learning my triggers just hate the crashes and the depression how many times can I pick myself up x" Such serious assholes doesn't it. Just gotta keep watching for the triggers and try and avoid a major crash or high.
I've been pushing heavily on my family for support; I can't afford another 3 month enforced sick leave from work. Some People Looking in think it's a bit of a laugh, but it really isn't. ![](/icons/s/sad.gif) |

I feel ya. If you need anyone to talk to message. I (Mrs), am not diagnosed bipolar but am diagnosed with depression and anxiety...but I do go through periods of mania. I love them when they happen. I get a lot done, but I agree. The crash afterwards is terrible. |

I change my meds every couple of years as the their effects decrease/increase as my Serotonin levels alter, talk with your doctor/psychiatrist & get your meds reviewed periodically.
When i am having a high i dread the low that always comes after so having friends that know your condition helps, never feel afraid to tell people close to you how you feel.
I am always happy to chat privately to a fellow sufferer, i find having a friendly chat when i am low can make all the difference. |

"Have had a really good few months new job but all I want to do is hide away and cry x"
On the positive side;
You recognise when it is happening
You can acknowledge it; and be open about it.
You seem to be developing some coping strategies
I had one of my employees who had severe depression swings; he was a really good employee ; but he understood himself well enough to come to me each time he felt he was going into one of his downs; so that I could take account of it, and he made sure everyone in his team knew as well, and it was great to see how they supported him too. And we all knew there was nothing we could really do, except let him come through it, and give him some leeway.
I hope your employers and work colleagues understand and support you. |

I am no expert (lol, I hear a chorus of cheers), but what usually limits us as people is fear (fear of failure, fear of the unknown etc). As you are bi-polar, you may have a tendency to fear slipping into depression for which, at the time, you see no end (but in the fullness of time does end).
You probably already know the first signs of that slip, and by recognition, the fear will increase, making you anxious and compounding the change in your psychology.
So... perhaps (and again, no expert), when you recognise those first signs, do something different to prevent the slip, in other words, the coping mechanisms you have used in the past have had limited success, so try some new ones, after all, what do you have to lose?
I truly hope, you are able to develop (with proper treatment and support), a better way of understanding your condition and that you are able to mitigate these changes in the future, but never let fear win, it limits us all. x |
