Has anyone noticed how, in its attempt to be down with the kids, the BBC has taken to quoting twitter users in several stories?
I am the only one that finds this cringe worthy to see in the news? Isn't the news supposed to be about the facts, rather than friendlybob1988's text speak message of support... |

The last time I saw it happen, it was a story about parking near a school or something. They showed 3 tweets, supporting it, against it and neutral. I think it's just them trying to stay relevant really |

"It drives me insane. I could not give a flying fuck what some random thinks of a news story. I wish they would just present the facts."
Thank you so much. I was worried it was just me being a grumpy old man. But for the life of me, I cannot understand why I'm supposed to care about this stuff. Most of the tweets use slang or text speak too, which doesn't belong on the news in my opinion. |

It reminds me of that episode of the office when David Brent comes to work with his ear pierced and boots with heels... |

Lol, I thought I was the only person it bothered. My family moan at me for shouting at the TV when it happens. I- literally- shouted out 'Yes!' When I read your post. |
