Hello folks,
This is something Mr R and I have been discussing today, and I'm interested in other people's _iews on the subject. It's a serious question and I'd really appreciate serious, well considered answers.
As it says in the title ~ what does the term 'slut' mean to you? What's your interpretion/understanding of someone who takes on this title/label/name?

We don't see it as a derogatory term in the context of a woman who loves sex with lots of people on a swinging site .
Outside the swinging scene , when it's used to describe a woman who loves sex with lots of different people , it's unpleasant .
The reason for the difference is this .
On here there are plenty if women who actively describe themselves as cumsluts and the like .
It's rare outside the scene a woman describes herself as a slut .

Nothing, it means nothing at all, its a word that cannot have any meaning outside of the bedroom.
No one is a slut, its a judgmental word that has no male equivalent, so there fore sexist and of no use other than to band about during hot sex.
Probably not the best explanation, but hey, its an explanation none the less |

Like most words, context is everything. So it means various things depending on the specifics. I have an incredibly cute little heart shaped necklace that happens to have the word slut emblazoned on it. But the wrong person calling me a slut at the wrong time risks my wrath. |

An untidy woman who doesn't clean her house properly......the actual proper and original meaning.
In street slang a woman who opens her legs for anyone.... |

"It means a right dirty fucking bitch. I like them.
I think 'slag' has more of a stigma."
Said by the right person / the right time, this is exactly what it means to me.

"It depends on who is saying it and how. If it's my lover it makes me smile. "
That kind of sums it up for me (but the opposite way round IYNWIM)
If I'm calling someone that, I've already got a pretty good idea of the response and I've probably got her pinned to the bed or against the wall- a handful of hair gripped firmly but gently, my body pressed against theirs with the words whispered in to their ear.
Like many words, it's the who, how and when that's important |

Isn't it a woman who has the same attitude to sex that a man does?
I would never call a woman a slag - for me it is a harsh word. I'd always want my partner to be a slut - though I probably wouldn't call her that in mixed company. |

I like the urban dictionary definition :-
It's a woman who has the morals of a man.
Can't quite decide if that is derogatory to both sexes or not. I could see it either way.

Personally I think i don't think it's a bad word it just describes someone who enjoys being filthy ! The only time I've seen people offended is back in the playground haha! My partner likes to be called a slut if she's being one |

"I've reclaimed it, after its misuse and so decided to own it. It means that I am free to do my own thing and to really enjoy myself.
"
A jolly good philosophy m'lady and, on that basis, I would like to state to the group. Good Evening, my name is Heels, and I am a slut! |

In the Swinging world it is an achievement... We're a couple of complete sluts and proud of it... Lol....
I think fab should have achievement levels depending on how many verifications we get.... It would give us something to aim for in our naughtiness now that we have 50 veries ... Lol
If anyone called us sluts outside if the swinging world it would lead to a falling out... |

Personally even if it's within swinging. We find the term offensive and if anyone messages us referring to jools as a slut it's an instant block.
Shows complete lack of respect in our humble opinion.
Not a badge of honour.
But that's our thing if others like it then that's their thing.
People tend to meet up with people who are their type.
If a woman or a man likes to be called a slut then meeting people who do so is perfect for them.
We don't so that's perfect for us.

I have never used the words slut or slag when referring to anyone, they are very judgemental terms in my _iew.
My Mum use to say if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. A good piece of advice |

I can't say I like the word slut or slag very much and see it as a derogatory term used for women and tgirls.
I love cock and I luv shagging and being shagged but that doesn't make me a slut or a slag... maybe a dirty bitch in the bedroom but I'm no slut. |

If some people (women) want to use it to describe themselves and act out a fantasy in the swinging world then that's fair enough. What I don't like is when words like 'slut' and/or 'bitch' are used by foul-mouthed so-called 'rap artists' as it not only normalises and excuses ugly/violent male attitudes and behaviour but encourages more of it. |
