"Must confess...bad spellers are off-putting for me.....unless English is not their first language then they are excused! Does anyone feel the same way?" From the amount of threads on this subject, no you're not the only one. Bad spelling / grammar doesn't really bother me but then I'm far from perfect myself in that department.
"Must confess...bad spellers are off-putting for me.....unless English is not their first language then they are excused! Does anyone feel the same way?" I'm with you. But my spellchecker works as an enemy agent! You know, I'm sure if Douglas Adams was still alive he'd have written a brilliant book about the end of humanity all caused by a series of unfortunate events triggered by Spellchecker getting involved where it wasn't wanted.

"Just curious and it obviously doesn't apply to phone users but when you see a red underline while typing doesn't it make one think that the word may be wrongly spelled? Then you right click and the correct spelling is the top option? Why does that not also apply to the dyslexic? Curious not judgmental question. " Because often their brain doesn't process words like the average person does...

"Must confess...bad spellers are off-putting for me.....unless English is not their first language then they are excused! Does anyone feel the same way?" many do and tell us regularly but its not going to change the terrible grammar and spelling/punctuation errors ,you will just end up getting frustrated ,chill
"Must confess...bad spellers are off-putting for me.....unless English is not their first language then they are excused! Does anyone feel the same way?" Many feel the same way. However i don't. I do love it if someone moans about others spelling etc but then make mistakes in either their profile or what they write on the thread lol
"I don't really care about spelling, but bad "redneck grammar" is off putting...especially when combined with text speak... For example: I think I seen u in them forums n I thank you is real purty. Bleah. " Yes thats the type that puts me off. xx

" I know it's going off topic, but I saw a dyslexia researcher on TV saying that dyslexics don't have dyslexia if they are taught pictograms (like in Mandarin). I suppose it's really obvious but profound nevertheless. An incredible thing, the human brain.

Because often their brain doesn't process words like the average person does..." Ok, but that still doesn't answer my question. It might if one was colour blind AND dyslexic. As it 'appens I've also noticed that the spell-check gives American spelling as in Colour=Color
"Some do some dont. Some see beyond the typos. Some hate text speak. Its been debated alot. For me text speak puts me off but i dont mind bad spelling or typos, at all,my typings full of it." this

"honestly some of you on here, the way you judge and criticise those that may not spell everything that's in message NEED TO GET A FOOKIN LIFE" the thing is, if you don't like or agree with the OP or with what people are posting, then you really don't have to comment.... simples

"I try very hard to spell right being dyslexic I find that hard enough without trying to work out were full stops and commas should go . I am certainly not stupid and try really hard to be understood I hope that my points come across correctly xxxx " Do you find that many people are using your condition as an excuse for their own laziness ?

"Bad spelling doesn't buvver me but I h8 text spk , y do it ? U no watt I mean. Half the time I have no idea what it means. What do they do with all the time they saved typing like that? lol " They used it thinking of how they could shorten the word in the first place lol

"There are a more things to worry about in life than bad spelling " Totally agree with this
"Must confess...bad spellers are off-putting for me.....unless English is not their first language then they are excused! Does anyone feel the same way?" Hmmm? No period termination at the end of your title. Malformed first sentence. Incorrect use of an Ellipsis. Twice. Exclamation is not needed after the word excused. But I think we all got your meaning. I feel perhaps it's more important to see the message rather than examine and be critical of the container it is in.

"Must confess...bad spellers are off-putting for me.....unless English is not their first language then they are excused! Does anyone feel the same way?" Nope , not in the slightest . Some of our veris are not well written , but the people were awesome . And for us that's what matters - the people we meet . Some may not be the most literate , but we couldn't care less . Their company and the fun we had is what really matters .
"Spelling is seperate from grammar. " *separate Sorry, couldn't resist!
"Not breaking down a wall of text with full stops tends to grind our gears. Just get out of breath from reading it!" Do you read it out loud As long as I can understand what is that is trying to be conveyed, then I don't have a problem with it. I don't like or use text speak apart from the occasional lol, but it wouldn't put me off meeting someone. On here, I put ma instead of my, and yer instead of your, because that's how I speak. If I was writing an official letter I would spell and punctuate everything correctly

Yeah, it can be rather straining on the eyes. I tend to give up after a couple of lines if it's too long
"People who don't use proper English-spelling and grammar-do not bother me in the slightest. Snobbery does; I don't like snobs, they bore me. "
