For those who have them or do them.
I would love a back piece done but not sure if I could take the pain lol. I have a very sensitive spine and apparantly this is a painful place for tattoos.
anyone had a tattoo over their spine and did it hurt?

Yep. It'll hurt some. How much is entirely dependent on your threshold for pain
What I would say though is what unsay to everyone who asked if it hurts.
It's gonna be there for the rest of your life. A few hours of pain getting it should be the slightest of your considerations.
Good luck whichever way your decision goes. |

I both tattoo and have tattoos, although the spine is a delicate area everyones body is different, personally isat for 5 and a half hours having my back done , it depends on how you take pai and also a little on the aartwork you are planning on getting, some designs require less intensive work so hurt less |

I have 9 tattoos and don't think any hurt more than the others..I have one on my spine and it's all black and grey so alot.of outline which I also find the most painful. I found the nearer to my neck it got, the worse it felt if only because the vibrations were nearer my head! |

This is where people often get confused, artwork with more detail often has smaller, more intricate linework, its the longer lines that cause more discomfort, and by the time it comes to shade and colour work the area is generally desensitised somewhat, ,, |

I have both sides (on my ribs done), quite a sizable one on my foot. And one on my left shoulder.
Every one of them was fairly OK! However I cried when I had my shoulder done!
I could only manage an hour at a time... |

I've got a back piece and I've got to say it's the most painful area I've had done. But loads of sugar before you have it lucozade thpse sort of rings really do help to ease the pain

I have a large back piece (see my pics) it really didn't hurt much, however between 2 particular vertebrae it hit a nerve and I kept spasming. Everyone is different, I've never suffered from any great pain from my tattoos. |

every one is different and like people have said it depends on the art work and the artist I have had over 20 hours on my back have been getting them done for over 20 years find a good artist there are a lot of scratchers out there who have all the gear and no idea |
