Pirlo is an absolute joy to watch. I also love watching Marco Verratti. I could name loads of midfielders like that I love watching. Ronaldinho was always great to watch with all his tricks. Of course Messi, Iniesta, Neymar etc but that much is obvious

The male half here. I am old enough to have seen George Best in his prime, and the amazing Pele. Fabulous. Plus an oddball one, Tony Currie. Great player

Bristol

Quite a few on the above list for me. I totally adored watching Denis Irwin play as well; he was one of my favourite footballers as a kid.

on the road to nowhere in particular

"Supermac. I know, fat mooching b*stard. Didn't half score them though."

Gordon Lee sold him from Newcastle because he scored too many goals.

Work that one out

Glad someone remembers him.

Before the offside rule. Rooney should take note.

in the centre

Bergkamp , Thierry Henry , Robbie Keane , as a Coventry fan i used to love watching Peter Ndluvo , at times he was amazing but not consistent enough , also one of the best performances i have seen was from David Beckham against Greece in the World Cup Qualifier in 2001

I was at that game. Becks was immense that day, and when that free kick went in, it was one of the best moments of my life.

Many of the above

I might get slated for it, but I loved watching Gary Linekar play. Great memories watching him in the'86 World Cup with my dad
