Ok so I love heavy metal music (I have a band logo tattooed on my forearm), but I do appreciate other styles to. Thanks to the daily mail, I found an orchestral cover of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Sprit this morning (https://m.youtube.com/watch?list=PL1YlSDI2-Ibvldmub2kV3UQjhH5O2L5Oa&v=t4VfaxeYOt8 worth a listen if you're a fan, I think they've done the song justice). So my question is this. Are there any songs you like where someone has changed the genre of the song?

Listen to Bob Dylan's " it's all over now baby blue" then check out the versions by Them and 13th Floor Elevators, all completely different versions of the same song

Belfast postman and Elvis tribute act "the King" has an album called Gravelands. Covers of songs by artists who have passed away. Highlights are come as you are by Nirvana, No woman no cry by Bob Marley and love will tear us apart by Joy Division.

Well worth a listen

Hinckley

Berlin-era Bowie, played as jazz/electronica by Steve Howe's (guitarist in Yes) son, Dylan (who played with the Blockheads and is now Wilko Johnson's drummer).

Bowie liked it so much, he sent him a hand written letter to tell him.
