Drink plenty of fluids, make sure you're flushing it out of your system, blow your nose when you need to and throw a few extra blankets on top of your bed. Go to the gym and sweat it out
Throw the occasional wank in there and you'll be right as rain

Take every tip that people suggest and do all of them. Twice. Then again.
None of it will work, but it will make you feel like you're doing something.
Now, something will be the last thing you do before you happen to start feeling better. This will now and forever become your miracle cure that you tell everyone about. You'll even be able to come up with plausible reasons why it worked.
So, my miracle cure based on the above methodology is spicy Thai broth made with loads of fresh herbs, chilli, garlic and ginger/galangal.
It's a miracle cure (not just because it happened to be what I had just before I got better) because of all the vitamins and antiviral properties |

Two tbs of Apple Cider Vinegar + 1 tbs of Manuka Honey (25+) & fresh lemon juice mixed in a cup of hot water 3 times a day…it works for me but it doesn't taste nice!!
ps. you can also add echinacea + 1/2 an aspirin which eases the symptoms |

What works for me most of the time, as long as you do it at the very first signs of symptoms, is to gargle with dilute TCP.
Tastes foul (so have some water handy), but practically every time I do it at first symptoms, it seems to kill it off before it develops |

ok .... myddygon myddfai (physicians of myddfai) recipe from 11th century
clove of garlic
1cm cube of ginger
teaspoon of black pepper corns
3 or 4 cloves
crush them all up with a pestle and mortar (or crush them with a rolling pin or similar)
add some honey (as much as you want) and the juice of a lemon and some grated lemon rind
infuse with boiling water for 5 minutes stirring well
then knock the whole thing back in one including the bits in the bottom
it'll taste odd so if you can't handle it hold your nose while you drink it and it won't be so bad.
the pepper corns are important because they dry up your sinuses and prevent mucus, phlegm etc.
the rest of the ingredients are pretty much bog standard remedies that need no explaination.
the mixture is greater than the sum of it's parts and it works really well.
you can supplement with some ibuprofen to prevent the aches
good luck man

I use the cold capsules to shut down all the symptoms, sometimes it seems to really knock the whole thing on it's head. |

Just before you go to bed. A tot of brandy in a cup of hot milk. I'm not sure it does anything for the cold, but it knocks you out so you sleep. My grandmother swore by it!

If you've got a meet tomorrow it's pretty much guaranteed you'll pass on your cold to your playmate. Do them a favour and reschedule.
Let's not call it flu, when it's clearly not. |

Wash your hands regularly(i mean alot more than a few times a day)or better still carry a little alcohol steriliser bottle round with you, try not to rub your eyes or stick your finger up your nose?.
You'll be surprised how many colds you'll avoid having in the first place |

Sudafed is good for clearing sinuses and getting rid of the pressure in your head. Paracetamol for aches, tissues for the snot and eat normally so you can fight it. |

For congestion I'd probably use a saline drip and menthol plus eucalyptus steam inhalation.
Ibuprofen for easing of swelling and pain.
Zinc as it may help you recover - probably better in the earliest stages to shorten the duration.
And rest. |
