I've just got new coloured contacts and sought out my lens holder. I've not used it in ages and it still had my last set of lens in.
Question is regards cleaning. It's plastic. Is a wash out followed by topping it up with lens cleaner enough?
Can I put it in boiling water?
Finally, what's the life on lens solution once opened?

I wear contacts myself.
I'd just go down Boots and get yourself some new cleaning solution (they often come with a case as well). It doesn't cost much either. Better to be safe than sorry. There's usually a use by date on the solution btw. |

Thanks. There is no use by date on it, hence my worry.
I'll go with the better safe than sorry and go buy a new solution/case. I've heard some horrendous stories of infections caused by contacts. |

Very true. Best not to risk it. I've heard those horror stories too. |

I have a new case and new solution. I'm being a good girl.
Had my lens' in for several hours now.
Do I really have to take them out to sleep? It took an age to get them in! |

I used to wear coloured contact lenses, and cat eye ones, I loved having a choice of eye colours.
Unfortunately I struggled to get them out every day and I ended up with scratches on my cornea which became infected, corneal ulcers developed. I had to have daily hospital treatment for 2 weeks and advised not to wear contacts again.
I wouldn't mess about with solutions or old cases, just get new and replace them monthly. Corneal ulcers are fairly common in contact lens wearers and your eyes are precious.
I miss wearing lenses. I do have very deep blue eyes but I liked having green, brown, purple, orange tinted eyes. At least there are some funky glasses frames and I do have various styles and colours of these |

"Getting them out I can do. It's putting them in I struggle with.
Contact lens' folks. Willies are easy. "
the coloured ones are both bigger and thicker than perscription lenses so that maybe why you struggle; again... contact lenses. |
