Terrible customer service

Have you ever had any really bad customer service and what did you do about it?

I'm sitting here fuming at the moment as my tattoo was booked in for yesterday at 1 p.m. I was called at 11 to confirm everything which I did and I said if I don't hear from you again I'll be in at 1, as they have a reputation for running late.

I was there just before 1, to be told that the tattooist was working on his earlier work, and can I come back at 2:15.

At 2:15 I was told they have messed up and they had another hour to do on the woman he had been working on all morning and then someone else coming in.

I asked me to come back today and they said, as I was very upset they would do some extra fine for free.

They were supposed to call at 10:45 to confirm coming in from 11 to 1. I didn't hear from them so I called it 11:45. They said they'd call me back in 2 minutes it is now 12 and I have heard nothing. Obviously it's not going to get them today either. I feel like going and getting my money back from them and taking my business elsewhere, and I'm angry and stressed about it as I prepare for a tattoo and have done for the last 2 days.

It is a shame as the artist is very good and I really like both him and his work. It isnt him thay does the bookings, but obviously heis involved.

I'm sure it's not personal it's just that they are very unorganised plus as I have already paid, they might be less motivated to sort it out.

I still feel very angry though and this is an unusual feeling for me.

Get your money back and go elsewhere, they clearly don't value your custom, that's not a good sign to me when it comes to something as permanent as a tattoo.

I use to work in customer service and so know my shit...

I personally in ur position would demand my money back and take the service elsewhere ... That's highly unprofessional.. I would also expect something for the inconvenience or losing out of two days..

I'm a royal bitch when it comes to complaining and always end up with upgrades or free stuff

I paid for 4 hours in advance if they were offering a discount. It's an hour of this that they still owe me.

I just called them again as I'm annoyed and I told them that I'm not happy and they said that they don't actually know where the tattooist is that they can't get hold of him so maybe he's on the train.

I suggested to them that maybe I should just get my money back if we can't sort it out as I don't feel that it's ok.

I really don't want to get on the bad side of them, or wind them up as the artist is really brilliant, but I'm just having such a job handling their organisation and customer service that it's hurting my head.

I did wonder why it's not a big waiting list for such a great artist. I think I know the answer now.

My tatooist has done this to me in the past after they've asked for a deposit they don't seem to care all that much.

I just complained to get discount as the artist is good. If it's an artist worry waiting for I'd just complain a lot. After its done haha

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Hmmm. My friend booked a tattoo and we waited ages for the guy to be available to do it. When we got there he took one look at the pic she wanted doing (which the parlour had helped us choose) and said he couldn't do it. We rescheduled with another artist and when we finally got there they said they'd left a message on her answer machine to say they couldn't do it. When she got home, no message.

My daughter sent a pic she wanted doing to a tattoo parlour and they said it would take one session and would be so much money. The week before her appointment they started saying it would take longer and upped the price. When she was sent their interpretation of her pic it looked like a child had done it with a crayon. She cancelled the job and gave it up.

Unfortunately, with tattoos becoming more socially acceptable, good tattooists can be very popular, and thus can provide crap customer service with no repercussions.

It does seem like they don't have a lot of customer service skills. I know artists work on creativity. And I completely get that and understand it. But as an artist myself (though not a tattoo artist) I value my customers because without those I wouldn't have a living, so therefore I keep my creativity and my organisation both as priorities.

I had a similar thing last year with my tattooist

Turned up for my appointment in the day and he was with another client. Said that he had not double book and said I had made the mistake. But when he looked in book he clearly had made the mistake. I then asked when the next available appointment was and he said he would ring later that day to let me know. He never rand so I rang and he said he couldn't fit me in for a while. So I demanded that he get me in ASAP or I wanted my deposit back and make sure that I would tell people how shoddy the service was. They rearranged my appointment for the following week, I got £50 off my tattoo and the next tattoo I had done there I got that done at a cheaper rate

The land of grey peas and bacon

The bloke who did my last tattoo is an awesome artist but he has got so busy and his customer service is shit, he doesn't respond to requests etc. So haven't used him again.

Its a really common thing then. I told them how upset I was.

I'm now typing this from the tattoo chair. But the artist has not set up and although he is here and happy... He is not showing signs of getting prepared as yet. Grrrrr

I have to go to work. I have limited time....

Keep smiling....

no matter

I think I would ask for money back .I would be too nervous to go back after getting angry as they could do anything in tattoo to get back at you if you piss them off.

In fact I would not pay upfront they could see the colour of my money but it would stay with me till I was happy.

Tattoo artists aren't customer service types, they're artists. Atists don't care about time.

When it comes down to bad customer service problems, I got them up the ying yang in both personal and professional life. I work on a post sales complaints team for a mobile insurance company and get to hear about bad service all damn day.
