Grrrr!!! My eyes are itching, nose is streaming & I want to scratch the back of my throat.
I have taken 2 antihistamines & they haven't touched it. I hate honey. Anyone else suffering yet? Any remedies that you have tried & have worked? This is the worst day since it started a week ago & will last a couple of months for me |

Take 1 antihistamine a day all year round..
1 spoon of your local honey a day (worth the taste even if not liked) all year round.
Try a nazel spray.
Wear sunglasses while out.
Keep windows and doors shut while inside (buy a fan if hot).
Keep car windows up when driving.
Shower and change clothes as soon as you get in.
Basically do all you can do reduce contact /prolonged contact with any pollen in the air.

"could it be a cold or sinus problems? "
I always thought it was a cold. Until i went to the doctor with my daughter for something. She said shes fine but you have bad hayfever. I was like no just a cold. Can be remarkably similar xx |

I wish it was Sassy, sadly this is my tenth year with it. I blame my son as it started when I was heavily pregnant with him. |

It has all the hallmarks of an allergy to tree pollen. It's the season.
I've got the grass pollen season to look forward to, in June. "
I feel your pain |

I suffer all year round but now about 10% of what it was, following some hypnosis that I had. No more rashes and severe symptoms. I just use cetirizine on bad days now, rather than every day. I also watch how I wash clothes, towels and bed linen, as I don't want minor irritants to help aggravate it. I don't use biological soaps ever. |

I usually take mines before going to bed. Lost count of how many times I used to wake up in the morning with itchy eyes. Seems to do the trick for me and only get the odd day during summer it seems to hit worse. |

"Might be worth trying a different type of antihistamine? I find one type has no effect on me but another one works amazingly "
Great advice. Yes, you should try this. It also worked for me.
The main active ingredients in all common over the counter hay fever remedies are either, loratidine, or cetirizine.
Depending on what you're specifically allergic to, one should work better than the other.

Tablets aside...
Personally, I've found the steroid nasal spray - Beconase - to work better than tablets. |

I feel for you! I'm a lifelong, all year round sufferer (as also allergic to fungal spores)
The only real cure is a self inflicted parasitic infestation because that dampens down your body's ability to identify potential foreign bodies…although can totally appreciate you not wanting to do that!!
The best solution I've found is putting vaseline under your nostrils but obviously not very attractive This significantly reduces the particles that you breathe in. I combine this with an air filter & continually washing my hair, bedding, clothes & NOT drying them in the open air…yes, its an absolute pain, but it works!
Holland & Barrett do a homeopathic remedy too which worked better than prescribed anti-histamines as they are all now ineffective for me and because they work by dampening down your immune system…i became too ill to take them without being vulnerable to everything going.
Medically, if you're not immune suppressed I think you can get something that injected that temporally lowers your immune response... |

Yep get hit by daffodils this time of year. I blame the Welsh for putting something in them. Only start five years ago. Eye drops and antihistamine daily. However. If the AH isn't working you may need a different type, there are several. Try a different one a day and see which one works. Do not mix or you could go bandy.
