I have the worst dreams .. Last night (Ok 4am this morning)
I woke up very stressed and tearful after dreaming one of my birds had got into a fight with the other and had a severely mangled broken leg, the one that did the deed (her mate) had plucked out all his body feathers and lovely red tail. ( he is fully feathered and very lovely)
I had to actually sit up and wake fully as I couldnt stop the feeling of sickness and shock.
Have felt really bad all day was scared to go in and see them this morning. Thankfully they are Ok.
Could be that we went to Vet yesterday and one of them stopped breathing under anaesthetic so they had to bring her round quick.
I often have dreams involving Mum and she been gone 6 years now. They seem so real.
Do you have good bad or recurring dreams ? |

When I was a kid I occasionally had a recurring dream, typically when ill.
I'd be in a desert or wilderness, light brown with an orange sky, and dumper trucks - giant, oversized dumper trucks - would come in to the scene and deposit huge piles of sewing needles.
Used to freak me out. |

I used to as a child...I would have night terrors and waking up was no solace as the abject terror and feeling of being in a dream would continue for a good while after...strangely I remember numbers being a big part of the horror though I couldn't say how exactly. Very weird.
I don't remember dreams any more. Haven't for years |

I have very vivid dreams.. 2 reoccurring at least once a week.. Exactly the same 2 dreams!..
But I did have a quite erotic one the other night about an ex fb.. I haven't seen him for a couple of years though.. So found it odd |

"I have a lot of really nice ones that are so vivid that I'm certainly it's actually happening. Always devastated to wake up."
I had a really good one where I was a bellhop in a fancy Victorian Gothic hotel.
George Osborne was staying there and I turned all the low-paid staff against him and we were playing practical jokes on him - spilling soup on him, buckets of water atop doors, trip wires &c - to the extent that all the guests were laughing and pointing at silly little Obbo.
Then I woke up and was sad.

I also had a dream about swimming in a typical blue lagoon.. lovely water and blue skies.. until I saw a dorsal fin coming towards me.. when the fin reached me I started to wrestle with it only for an inflatable shark to burst and lots of baby inflatable sharks to appear in its place... |

Mine normally revolve around a girl (never one I recognise from real life, but nearly always has black hair), warm weather and a beach or a boat... And its weird, because I actually feel the emotion of happiness whilst in the dream, but clearly feel it as if its real. Is that lucid dreaming? |

I have a fair few recurring dreams as well as some running like tv series, with new episodes. Most are great, exciting and gripping. Some I part direct, when semi conscious. Plenty of mundane ones too, though most days I'm getting adventurous stuff atm, I'm assuming because I'm under a lot of pressure.
Not had any memorable scary ones for a while, where it needs checking for evidence of whether it really happened or not, later when awake. |

I always have very vivid and fantastic dreams, colourful and exciting. My last memorable dream I was having a wild threesome with Taylor Swift and another lady... That was a shame to wake up from |

I've had recurring dreams about tidal waves for years; every few months or so. Oddly they aren't scary since I always seem to be high up on a hill watching from above. I used to have regular nightmares about my teeth falling out as well. Those stopped when I actually knocked some teeth out in real life. |

You Dont Need to Know, right now |
A few years ago, I sought help, because of my nightly vivid and upsetting dreams. The counsellor explained that dreams are really the brain 'catching up on its filing', while we're not using our brains for anything else. He gave me a technique to avoid being upset, which is to trace the dream back to something that I have done, seen or thought about during the busy part of my day. I have to recognise what the trigger was, and rationalise that my brain just didn't complete the processing of that activity (probably because my brain moved on to doing something else), and mentally 'close the filing cabinet' on those thoughts.
Tonight I expect I will have bad dreams about the Brussels terrorist attacks. But the technique will enable me to rationalise that I am in no greater personal danger today than I was yesterday, and I will be able to put the bad dreams aside.
Needless to say, when I have pleasant and vivid dreams, I just lie in bed and wallow in the pleasure of them. No 'closing the filing cabinet' on those nice dreams |

"Has anyone woke up from a really freaky and vivid dream only to fall aleep and staight back into the same dream?"
I often go back into a dream, this last one I had to really wake up from as I was distressed. |

Sleep paralysis is real, certainly.
It's conjectured that this is the derivation of succubi

"There's a type of dream called a lucid dream which can be very realistic. When you have one next and 'wake up' in your dream, try telling yourself in your dream that you're in a dream. "
And there are lucid dreamers who can *control* their dreams - what they do, surroundings, sensations. |

Indeed slightly related to remote viewing too, if you were in the CIA in the 60's. |

Every so often I have the same dream. Walking through a forest with other people all dressed with monk type clothes. Hoods over their heads so I cannot see who they are. Had the same dream since early childhood. |

Yup, I've always been a lucid dreamer and have been able to influence my dreams since childhood. Some of my dreams are very odd and my nightmares make me think I could give Stephen King a run for his money in horror literature. |

Last nights was weird.
Got accused of poisoning a member of Littlemix with a pack of sausages while also having a job interview to work for them. The plaintiff was also married to Chris Evans and had two children. |

I usually have stress dreams about things that are happening in my real life - combined with unrealistic bizzare can only happen in a dream scenarios.
I usually forget them soon after I wake - but recently I have been dreaming that I've been smoking following whatever stressful dream event that happened.
And the relief that I feel after that dream ciggy is amazing!
I gave up smoking in December after 25 years
