just a little tip, if you leave a message unread but look at the senders profile, if they are a site supporter then they can tell. nothing worse than sending a carefully worded message for it to be left unread

I think pretty much everyone on fab knows that I mainly meet single guys and that I sympathise with them and think they can be treated badly in the swinging world!

However - I don't read or respond to all my messages and never will unless I experience a major drop in messages. I currently have 572 unread messages. Most will never get read.

All I can really say gentlemen is that if it's important to you to be on a level playing field - then fab isn't for you and I'd suggest a dating site!

One of us will read a message and either reply or put it back to unread for the other to read when they get chance.

We also have some unread, as we will go back to them later.

Don't see the issue myself. But I've decided today is let's all have a go at each other Tuesday! So what do I know.

Hmm, so perhaps someone recieves a message and before reading it they check the profile. Yup the site supporter will be able to see that their profile has been checked, but if the recipient decides that they are not interested from what they saw on the profile, why would they bother reading the message regardless of how well crafted or otherwise the thing is.

There are definitely far worse things than messages being unread, such as people presuming they can control others witout knowing anything about them.

Everyone is entitled to manage the messages that hit their inbox however they like, afterall once a message is sent it becomes the recipients to do with as they wish and is totally out of the control of the sender.

Jolly good. In those 7 years did you realise people will do what suits them best, not what you want? They're here for what they want and, just as you are free to run your account as you wish, so are they.

Do you really think sending a message gives you the right to tell people what to do with it?

Ah yes, the standard protestations about cliques and single man hating, just because we don't agree with you.

Since you're so het up about people not managing their messages according to your demands, I suppose we shouldn't be surprised.

People will not always agree with you and people won't necessarily do things the way you want them to. If you can't accept that, this place will forever annoy you, completely unnecessarily.

Pointing out to newbies... Who probably don't even use the forums yet.. That it annoys YOU when they look at your profile and not reply to you.. Isn't helpful in the slightest.. Not even a teeny tiny bit...

If they are new they will just be getting to grips with the site so might not be replying to anyone.. But leaving messages until they're comfortable with how everything works....

If people look at your profile but do not message you... They are not interested.

If people don't read your message straight away they either have a lot of messages to get through or they are not interested.

"oh dear how to be misunderstood in less than an hour, answer come on the forums, as I say its been like this from day one so hardly surprised

..

If people don't read your message straight away they either have a lot of messages to get through or they are not interested.

you have been on here 7 years and don't understand that..?.. Really?..

yawn "

so you have ocd and people that cant handle a message being unread aren't worth meeting? why is that? does it make them less genuine?, less likely to meet? be worse in bed? go on I'm interested to know "

I'd hazard a guess that people that whinge about getting no replies ir that people don't read messages are even more needy in the real world. Entitlement, especially over something so trivial is not an appealing trait

Feeling aggrieved because someone doesn't read your message comes across as needy. I'd avoid anyone like that on the grounds they'd probably be demanding, entitled and too much trouble.

A guy on another site got huffy because I asked a question he didn't like recently. He gave a reasonable answer but I've still declined to meet him for being huffy over a fair question. If I wanted childish strops, I'd have kids.

You asked why people who can't deal with their messages not being read according to their own timescale would put people off.

That's why. It comes across as needy and as though you'd be more hassle than anyone wants.

OP I find it a better investment of my time and emotional energy to assume that the reason I get the responses I get is the way I am communicating. If I'm not getting the results I want I change the way I am communicating. Are you getting the results you want?

that's it moan over "

As others have said in stealth mode you can look at anyone's profile and they wouldn't know, just because they haven't read it you feel that you have the right to moan about it because you've carefully worded it?? No one has to read every message they get nor do they have to reply. If they haven't read it but have been on the site since you sent it and it's been a few days just face facts that they are most likely not interested, so forget them and move on to the next one.

Brighton - even Hove!

Some people and men in particular, send such shit one liner messages that one can read them without bothering to open them to read. Why waste time and effort on a response? Also in stealth mode, you can't tell if I've looked or not.

no matter

I always look at the profile before opening a message. Generally I find I am way over the age limit they require. Dont know why they want to meet when it is quite clear I dont wish too.

I leave unopened for a few days and just remove after copy and pasting it with a date on their special notes page. Then I know when they do it again.

Its amazing how many people forget they messaged before or have no clue I changed my name.
