Interestingly Dan Jarvis is the bookies favourite to succeed Corbyn as the next labour leader.

Boris is their favourite for conservatives. I must say that it would be one hell of a show down to have those choices at the next election.

Fingers crossed we could have a PM who isn't a career politican...

People just want to talk about the crazy politicians then, or slag off the evil tories who want to kill your child and kick your dog.

I've read it again and yes I did read it the first time, I take it he's a labour politician but I haven't heard of the name before though.

To be fair, he's not a household name yet but that's the great thing about fab - you stay ahead of the curve on these matters

it doesn't do to judge people just because they don't know who someone is...most people are on here looking for others to have sex with...not to be educated about up and coming labour MPs

I can't keep up with who Corbyn does or doesn't have in his shadow cabinet. Dan Jarvis is not one of the crazies so I'd guess he's not in the shadow cabinet. He's an ex-military guy and is MP for Barnsley, lost his first wife to cancer and was a single dad for a while. Rather handsome too all things considered. Basically, the perfect CV for a politican.

Not judging anyone, just didn't fancy repeating myself that "he's the bookies favourite to replace Corbyn"

Exactly. The success of trump in America should be a hint that a lot of people of sick of generic career politicans and their boiler plate speeches. If Dan Jarvis could just stand up and talk about his life like a normal person, that would be very powerful.

There's nothing wrong with being a career politican, there's been some very very good ones.

The trouble is alot make a substantial second career out of the original career (it's like employing somebody who spends 5 hours out of 8 doing foreigners) worse still there manipulating your business to a detrimental effect to increase their foreigners!.

It's nothing new it's been going on a hundred years, there just getting better at it and more hard faced

In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Dan Jarvis would have been the sensible political choice. I'd still have preferred Chukka and reckon he would still be the safest bet for the next Labour PM - albeit in many years time.

Not sure that Dan Jarvis is what i would deem to be a career politician, yes he now has a career in politics but my definition of a career politician is more along the lines of Uni doing 'P.P.E.' then a stint as an intern/ assistant then a safe seat ..

There's nothing wrong with having a career in the military, it doesn't make you a perfect politican though... Look at Douglas barder

That was just one of the things about him I liked. I also like the fact that, he's remarried to a woman who is a graphic designer - that to me is a 'normal' job and a nice way to keep in touch with middle class life. Overall, he has real life experiences that I think would help you understand the impact of your decisions on a wide range of people, not just those that fund your party.

Tell me about it, can you imagine the premier league if the majority of managers and coaches had never actually been professional players!!
