In my excitement - the news is: The changes to PIP will not go ahead. Smith asked for clarity as to point scoring. Crabb advised his statement was crystal clear, the changes will not go ahead.
You will have to google Owen Smiths retort. It WAS MASSIVE. |

the statement has been read now - they are all talking about other stuff... only lasted about 20 mins and I was just staring at the screen ... Labours Smith, put up a juggernaut response. But the pip change is getting reversed and it was commended as a U-turn. |

"Owen has really done us proud today.
We have to get the scum out of number 10. Before it's too late, that's if it's not already.
Da iawn Owen. "
he did lead on to Cameron .. but it was fully focused on the inequalities on the disabled spending reduction, also went onto the bedroom tax under IDS. Hope someone puts it on you tube. Cameron was white, Crabb was introduced to the house in a very ungraceful way lolo - he didn't have muich to say after it! |

Shadow work and pensions secretary Owen Smith says that "however entertaining it has been watching the Tory civil war", MPs must remember "the 640,000 disabled people who have been in the firing line of the Prime Minster's Budget".
While he welcomes the reversal, he says the manner in which it came out "strips all credibility from claims" that "we are all in it together".
He asks Stephen Crabb whether he "agrees with his predecessor about the unfairness of welfare policies", and whether that is that why he is announcing a reversal of the PIP cuts.
He also questions whether Stephen Crabb can truly confirm there will be "no further cuts to payments to disabled people", given his support for other welfare cuts.
He tells MPs that Mr Crabb has previously said those opposing Employment Support Allowance - benefits for disabled people in work - were engaging in "political banter" |
