I'm a 50's child, and our sons are always borrowing my music. They even held their own 70's and 80's disco recently

Hey I can remember a time when musicians were thus called, because theyed learned to play real musical instruments and people who could only sing were just called singers...... and people who just messed about with recording type devices, mashing together noises other people originally created were not even invented yet….

Ohhh it were great back int-olden-dayz

im a very late 80's child and grew up with 90's music.

i loved listening to all my mums faves, but as a parent myself now it scares me to think what the 'music industry' will be like when she begins to discover it for herself in about 10years time.

The good thing about the net is that all the good stuff is still out there, and there are radio stations that play the good stuff,so it's easily found.

It's even more annoying when my daughter hears an 'oldie' and to her it's history, yet to me it's a memory!

i beg to differ there is some great music around at th e moment from real musicians and singers with real soul not just hip hoppers ...im a child of the fifties soul and motown was my genre and i still love it ,but i can appreciate all different kinds of music from frank sinatra to arctic Fire ..and if you reallly want to find someone special check out passenger AKA mike rosenberg an old fashioned modern day troubadour who is gonna be really famous one day ...i saw him first !!!

"music like fashion is all retro, what goes around definatly comes around,,,again and again"

Thats because there is nothing ORIGINAL no more which says loads about how little musicians and fashion designers come to think of it are lacking in the creativity department

unlike swingers who have lots of very creative ideas and definitely find new ways of having fun

S'funny, kids now think that vinyl and turntables are really avant garde...

Not sure about the yardbirds , he played with the Byrds though and the Flying Burito Brothers , he wrote some truly great songs my favourite is Brass Buttons , classic .There is a really strange tale after he died , i think his stepdad and a fiend of Grams stole his body and tried to cremate him at a favourite spot of his but it went wrong somehow and his body only half burnt , a nice symbolic gesture that turned shambolic , shame

I'm into electronic dance music and the scene is still healthy... although I don't really get dubstep as I'm more into psytrance and progressive stuff myself.

I've just picked up some new CDJs and a new mixer to replace my old kit.
