I wouldn't say living alone like I'm a proper adult or nuffink lol just free house. Funny really, all the time I'm thinking can't wait to move back out again but now I have the house to myself... it's horrible.
The silence, just can't bare it! I make the slightest bang and it's the most horrific offence to my ears lol scared to make a squeak! It's lonely, depressing and miserable.
HOW DO YOU COPE! |

I love it. When I married my ex it was straight from my parents home so when I left him last summer it was the first time id lived alone ever! There is no way I'm living with anyone else ever again. I adore my freedom n the peace n quiet infact when anyone comes up the stairs (i live in a block of flats) I wanna open my door n scream at them hahaha x |

As an introvert, I love silence. When the kids are at their dad's and Lee's not staying, it's nice and peaceful - in some ways, I have the perfect set-up |

"Its the actual conversation with someone that gets me,
Maybe that's why I don't shut up when I go to work
"
Definitely feeling that one! So isolated! I feel sad for people stuck in by themselves everyday, luckily I mix and mingle at work all day but if I didn't do that I'd soon fall into a depression! Oooooh dogs sneezing company!!! |

Most people who come to visit me run away when they realise I like to talk to another human, probably a bit too much |

before I had kids, solitude didn't bother me. mother worked away 3 days a week. middle of nowhere, no ambient noise, no traffic. When it's silent, it really is silent. When I brought my now ex back the first time ( townie) and turned the car off, her jaw dropped at the sheer silence...
now we're seperated and I'm back here, I can't hack the quiet at all! When the kids are here, fine. .. noisy fun.. as soon as they go.. the quiet hits. I just spend my time sorting things. . Garden, cars, bikes.. keeping busy.
can't sleep in silence either. . Have to have the tv or fan on, or a loop of the kids snoring, or use Nytol. yet at work I'd rather work solo.. Go figure. |

I;ve never really lived alone until last summer. Despite the fact that I've always liked solitude and my own space. I found it weird to begin with and would work late or find other distractions to not be home alone too much. But now I absolutely love it. |

When I first move in to my house I would lay in bed at night and every noise would sound like someone trying to break in |

This is my scenario! Why happens if someone breaks in, where can I escape, where's my nearest exit. Do "they" know I'm home alone. I swear I hear people knocking at the door as well and I have to mute the tele! What happens tomorrow morning when I'm up at 6 leaving the house for 7, do I need to make the house look lived in?! This is the worst week ever. Dying must be easier than living right now. |

See your all like, "oh it's not that bad, it's great, it's fine". THERES SOMEONE IN THE BACK GARDEN WATCHING WAITING TILL I TURN THE LIGHT OUT TO SLEEP! If I'm in sky news tomorrow because someone's sliced my head off and put it in the oven then I'd like my gravestone to say, "He knew they was going to get him". |

Its not right is it! Imagine being murdered by your cat!!! Domestic cats ya know have their wild tendencies and it really could happen!!! Do you think there's a phone number to call for people on their own at nights for reassurance lol? I've called my mate but she's in the pub and doesn't care. She's dead to me now. |

ALRIGHT ALRIGHT I'm over it now (actually I'm really not) there's no noises, I've double checked the back garden for peace of mind. Dogs in with me and I've asked a friend to message me at 6 tomorrow morning to check I'm OK. I'm going to get some shut eye now but if I HEAR ANYTHING the lights will be back on and I will be back here VERY promptly.
Thanks all. |

"Sounds pathetic but I get scared at night trying to sleep! Hear all sorts! How pathetic is this!!!! I would do many, many degrading things to have a place to myself (as opposed to living with parents, I should stress).
Just having that ability to arrange your affairs the way you want, create a little nest for yourself...it's highly underrated, and I miss it dearly. |

Go CCTV. I have 4 cameras with night vision giving a compass coverage of entry/exit points (mostly for the cars sakes), and I also have a panning night vision wireless cam in the eaves at the front maintaining an eye on the approach road.
Totally frivolous, but it reassures the kids. I keep my leatherman under the pillow. |

I use to love living alone .... It never happens now and I can't wait ... Hate living with others... I like my personal space too much ... Saying that I never answered the door haha |

I've lived on my own for 6 years, the thought of someone living with me getting in my personal space terrifies me!
The only time I don't like living alone is when I'm ill and want someone to make me chicken soup and look after me.
Oh and when the cats try and trip me up on the stairs, that shits me right up! |

"Love it.
I am responsible to nobody;
I come and go as I please;
I have the time to do the things I want to do.
I socialise with people on my terms
And I am very content with my own company ...."
Definitely. Happiest I have ever been |
