Today my 24 year old son said " Dad you would have a lot more luck with women if you were taller "
In reply I said to my 6'2" soldier boy son " I'm quite happy being of average height "
He laughed and chuckle " Average ! You could be a stunt double in Honey ive shrunk the kids "
So I've decided too stand up for the shorter man ... Yes I am standing up thank you.
No I do not have hairy feet or drive a mini. OK I'm useless at basketball but I'm fantastic at mini golf. No I do not need a bolster cushion at the cinema.
I'm short and proud !
So too all the vertically challenged out there join me in my quest to high light ...or perhaps low light our shortness.
No more of this " hey give me a low five " Or the " careful dont get him wound up or he'll jump up and punch you in the knee ".
That's got that of my chest. Now if you do not mind I'm off out down the Happy Hobbit with Frodo and Sam.

"Us short arses can fly economy and still have plenty of leg room.
Also, kids are so fat these days that I find that T shirts and underwear for 13 year olds fits really well, and there's no VAT"

"5'7" isn't short. no it isn't "
It's shorter than me but not short short.
Short is where you knock on the man's door and as he opens it you find yourself staring at a wall and look down to see all 4'10 of him smiling up at you.
Great fuck that was too. |

OP....your same height as me. Rarely seen it as a problem. Sure some ladies specify a minimum height...so I don't bother messaging them.
That said my best "friend" (lol) was initially a meet from here and had a 5'10" minimum.
She has long ago changed her mind tho! |

It is
He would still look down on you
"
Only in my bare feet, stick a pair of flipflops on and I'd be taller . My ex husband was 5'7" I don't mind. I've come to the conclusion anyway if I want to meet someone at least 5'7" then I need to be looking at profiles that say they're 5'11" |

At 5'9" I get short arse comments from all the six foot pluses that seem to pervade my life. I have hairy feet, hairy ears, a hairy nose and hairy middle aged spread. My one consolation is next to my Dad I look like a fookin giant |

Funny you should say that,my daughter got her Nike Roches from the kids department,I needed some as well so bought mine from the kids department as well. Why pay £30 more to get exactly the same from ladies trainers when the kids go up to my size |

Currently 5'9 is the " average" UK male height.
50 years ago it was 5'7.
If you take only under 30s it is 5'10.
Interestingly, 5'9 comes from surveys where height was measured.
Surveys where people simply filled in a form giving their height, the average is 5'10
Seems a bit like the dick size thing, then....
Personally it seems I am average; so I couldn't care less one way or the other .

I like tall guys but it's an ideal, not a requirement. It's certainly not set in stone.
I had an 8 yr relationship with a man who was 5' 8". With the right guy, height doesn't matter.
I wouldn't insult anyone for their height, (unless in retaliation for insults to me, and even then I'd probably not choose height). Firstly I try not to be insulting to anyone who has done me no harm but also because height isn't something we can control. It's shitty to be abusive to people based on what they got in the genetic lottery of life. |

I used to get pretty badly bullied at the all-boys, sports-oriented secondary school I went to...it's why I shied away from sports and became a reclusive nerd XD
But honestly, if someone makes fun of you based on one of your aesthetic qualities, they aren't worth any of your time. And you'll always be able to find people for whom your height is irrelevant. |

I was very conscious of my lack of height years ago, but have realised over time that if it's an issue for your it becomes an issue for anyone who might be otherwise interested in you. If you come across as self-obsessed or unhappy about who you are it can reflect on your overall personality and others may miss the best of you. For me i'm definitely short, but rarely see it as being of any consequence. If anything it's made me be more attentive and resulted in me making more effort for any partners, concentrating on them far more than me, which can't be a bad thing. As a result Ellen (my girl) is now going out with a considerably shorter man than she would have previously considered. She turns heads wherever we go and probably has people wondering what the hell she's doing being with me. As a consequence I feel ten feet tall as I know what she sees in me and she let's me know all the time, which is amazing!
Be yourself fellas - it''s the way forward!

I recently got a mail mocking someone i met because he was 5ft6. The person suggested I should meet a "real man" of 6ft+ like him.
I pointed out that a real man is polite and respectful and doesn't feel the need to big himself up by mocking others.
The 5ft6 guy won me over with his wit and charm, height is irrelevant. |

Good for you girl arrogance for me is a turn off, for me what is important is who you are as a person that's what I look for most.
