"Often used as a secret code by straight guys who suck cock ......
Well that's what someone told me at the bus stop the other day........ "
Was he asking if you where looking to hop on a number 7?
Because that's a common bus related question at a bus stop and less of a penis metaphor. |

Enigma, The Rivers of Belief
'...and when the Lamb opened the 7th Seal, silence covered the sky...'
(Admittedly, this is abridged from Revelations 8:1).

Seventh son of a seventh son
Seven pillars of wisdom
There are 7 branches on a menorah
Seven days of creation
The walls of Jericho fell seven days after seven priests with seven trumpets walked round them seven times

"007 James Bond good one I expected that one would come up. "
It wasn't difficult, Octopussy was on the tv as I read the posts. I resisted the urge to make any sexual innuendos with the title, it's an innuendo in itself. |

Lucky 7-related trivia...
How many colours are there in the spectrum?
There were 7 listed by Isaac Newton, in his color wheel, was: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
In modern divisions of the spectrum, indigo is often omitted, as it is actually part of violet.
The reason?
Newton was a superstitious man who considered the number 7 to be auspicious, so he 'added' an extra colour to bump it up to 7.

Yeah well is also attributed as being one of the first people in Britain to use the term Standing on the shoulders of giants during a written communication.....
but he didn't invent the phrase....
because he was too busy doing other stuff and someone in a far off land had beat him too it many years before he was even born.....
So there...... what do you reckon to that eh!......eh!..... |

Ah!
Again, interesting.
The quote is, 'If I have seen further it is because I was standing on the shoulders of giants."
There is a school of thought that says this was in fact a sly dig at Newton's great rival, the very short, Robert Hooke.
Ie, if I've seen further, it had nothing to do with you, short-ass.

My fav thing about Newton is that, when he died, a complete inventory of his house and possessions was made.
The stunning thing is that *everything* - the furniture, rugs, carpets, walls, furnishings - everything was scarlet.
He liked red. And lots of it. |

Now that is an interesting fact,,,,,, it's information like that keeps begging for more......
I mean learning about sciencey stuff is all well and good ........ but learning about someone's taste for interior décor is far more captivating... |
