Healthy lunchtime

Folks.

Breakfast, evening meals, weekend. Fine it's easy to eat healthy.

It's during the week daytime I really struggle to maintain a healthy eating regime.

Low fat, low carb.

I get sick of eating same thing.

Here are my issues.

Limited time, I am mobile so no access to a fridge or microwave.

I work in some really really disgusting houses and sometimes no matter if I wear gloves etc I still don't want to use my hands.

No amount of alcohol gel makes me feel clean.

I don't eat bread.

Salads just don't fill me up enough unless it's a huge one.

So some meal suggestions would be very welcome. Open to all ideas.

I usually have stuff along lines of tuna,Cous Cous, chicken. Raw veg, oatcakes.

Thanks

If you're on the go and mobile - and from the brief description of your day I can hazard a good guess at what job you do - have you thought that maybe you need some carbs, but good cards (not white bread)?

Perhaps brown rice, spelt, wheat-berries, whole-wheat pasta etc? Or oats - porridge is a good slow release carb. You could get some of those porridge pots and a flask of hot water?

Just a thought.

Cheers, I am diabetic so try to keep carb intake to a reasonable minimum.

If it's clean, decent complex cards and I am not having carb heavy meals then yeah.

I do have quinoa, Cous Cous, pitta bread, and the occasional wrap.

Woodthorpe

I tend to have cheese crackers and an apple and some grapes. A yoghurt from my cool bag finishes me off.

Not ideal finger food but a tiny cool bag keeps it all fresh.
