it's the primate that gets it's way by being the biggest bully of all the other males. sometimes lesser alpha males try to make it submit with violence.
winner fucks all the females and passes on their tournament genes. |

it's also the male who makes other males feel lesser than what they are, because they can't actually get a fuck by being themselves. putting down other males and making them become lesser is the next best way for them to get a fuck.
i'll think of other stuff, i've studied genetics and monkeys... |

The alpha male is an act that is performed by males usually in their teens and twenties who act tough, are loud, and have to be the center of attention or they feel insecure. When a man is successful and in his thirties he no longer acts this way because he has grown up and realized that the entire alpha male act is phony. When was the last time you saw a rich, successful man try to pick a fight??? Never. The only guys that do this are the losers that go to bars to take their anger out because they are angry inside for going nowhere in life.

monkeys are more kinky though, so more interesting by default. and they fling poo.
also, they're more prone to the debilitating symptoms of stress. being an alpha is highly stressful, and they die easily coz their immune systems fuck up.
it was monkeys where they first found the link between stress and immune disorders, also between being nurtured and living a longer, healthier life.

Well a lion pride has an alpha male and non of the descriptions above fit him ....an alpha male does pick fights cuz every other male is beneath him only wannabes need to to prove themselves..knowing that he is the biggest strongest fastest is enough....being an alpha male is not about how you choose to love it's about being confident in your own skin ...too many people in this country judge males for who they are ..males.. |

Generally cocky, arrogant, and self delusional about their power and influence.

Everyone else's _iew of an alpha male is quote different to mine, I have long considered myself an alpha male because.
I have confidence in my abilities
I don't have to prove myself to anyone
By default my natural personality is that of a protector
I have a belief that I'm better than no one, and no one us better than me
I'm emotionaly mature enough to not take every challenge to heart
Is rather reason than argue
I'd rather nurture someone who feels insecure, than make them "know their place"
I know its not just males who are alphas
I.know its not just males who pretend to be alphas
I don't compete, I excel
Eventual every alpha is replaced by someone better, and be it a group if friends or a work place, to fight that change, to the bitter end will.never be good for the group, and a true alpha, knows that the greater good is more important than just one person, maybe my definition of an alpha make us wrong, if it is, then scrap this whole post, because if being an alpha male means beating my chest, and being a me Tarzan you Jane neanderthal look at how many pints I can drink, I eat the hottest curry, ill fight anyone.
Then count me out, |

How you describe yourself sounds more like an omega. An omega is confident within themself but aren't egotistical. They don't need to show off yet the insecure alpha constantly feels like they need to impress their peers. |

I like confident guys who have nothing to prove, they're self-assured with inner strength. Men with little self-awareness or restraint, who'll try to take over social situations are akin to some guys taking steroids, driven by insecurities. |

Now I only meet "alpha males". Men who are at the top of their game, arrogant and confident outside the bedroom but submissive sexually.
Lazy lovers?!! Not on my watch! |

You say Alpha male = lazy lover, well not here,
I'm an Alpha male, and always have been, this Alpha male has always tried to be a good lover, so that all the other lionesses will stay in my pride. You mention about the young ones all they do is shag you red raw, there not alpha, there just young bucks trying to impress.
And using the lion analogy, you state that, alpha males when young love to fight, well when younger this Alpha just roared, so all the other males new there place |

Animals and humans are vastly different because humans have the ability to rationalise. There's so much more to courtship and being the sought after male than being alpha, and being alpha isn't the same in the human world. It's not just about being the biggest and strongest. |

"Alpha males have always come across as insecure to me
Then there not true alpha's
What makes a true human alpha male? "
I do not proclaim to have the gospel on this, but weakness in mind and strength (not violence) is not a trait, that I say a true alpha beholds.
I'm a chauvinist, not a pig, just a chauvinist.
When I'm out with a friend who is a woman, she well aware that we're going to have a good time, and if there's trouble she could count on me
And if I'm out with men friends likewise.
Saying all this, this doesn't mean I revert to violence, I can use the words out of my mouth to deflate a situation, which I have done many a time.

It's far more complicated. Certainly in human interaction.
Using Alpha/ beta / omega for humans doesn't work; it works for animals, but human interactions are much different and more complex.
Categorizing humans that way just doesn't work.
The so- called human alpha, which people think they define as the aggressive, stronger, dominant type who leads by force , is different to the confident, successful achiever, who leads naturally.
Some researchers have resorted tot ermine "alphas" as type 1 or 2, type 2 being the type that is outwardly dominant, and impulses dominance, type 1 being the less outwardly dominant, type, but the one who is confident, and who is the one who naturally is followed, and becomes the leader. Type 2 rely on always dominating, but are constantly under challenge and maintain position by increasing force and domination ; Type 1 are seldom challenged; tend to be more able to control situations; sometimes are accused of manipulation , though this is complex to describe too.
When selecting leaders, if you are doing it correctly; you select type 1, and avoid type 2 as they are disruptive, in the end, in any team environment. |

It's totally ridiculous, ffs we have or supposed to have anyway.
Evolved from troops of chimps with males fighting for the right to mate with the female's.
But some guy's still feel the need to try and prove how manly they are usually by being
Loud, aggressive, crass and usually a bully.
If someone where to do a study I bet there would be a pattern of only child mummy's boy's who have gone their whole life getting what they want like a spoilt child.
Usually narcissistic, egomaniac with a over inflated sense of self importance.
Which some may mistake for confidence.
But I guess some women fall for the act and some guy's feel the need to act like playground bullies to try and impress said females.
I know who I am and what I am,what I am capable of.
I am simply a man.

"what is it?
who?
why?"
Josie three question were
Who, What and why.
And the men amongst us who don't fit the criteria, and don't know what a male (not chimp) alpha in there opinion is, and why some of us can/ try to answer the question posted,
Get squeaky bum time on a Sunday morning, thinking someone who answer the question is somehow infringing on there masculinity,
Very true one doesn't need to going on alpha man marches or shout it out at the top of there voices, to be alpha. So if your not an alpha, it doesn't make you any less of a man then anyone else
This is the end of my sermon for this morning Amen |

Self-proclaimed alpha-males do make 'statements of fact'; the ones who truly are, do not need to make such statements; their actions and success speaks for them. That is what I think |

There are a lot if different opinions as to what an alpha male actually is, so therefore I would have to say that by some peoples definition I am, and by some, I'm not, by my own, I am, and I don't think the all encompassing "if they say the are, they're not" us a bit to general for such a broad subject, and I think for a proper discussion on the subject to take place, then there has to be a singular definition.
It's like asking if kinky butler is a good man, some will say that I'm a complete douch, some will say I'm a good guy, it depends on your experience of me.
But by my definition if an alpha male, yes, I am one, but it seams that the popular idea if what an alpha is, is something negative |

A true human alpha male does not act like a testosterone fueled dick head. He's often clever, quiety confident, educated and dominant.
There is a huge difference between knowing you are alpha and thinking/acting like you are.
A woman who has experienced a true alpha knows it, they feel it before they are even touched. |

I think I am agreeing with you here - it is not a question of behaviour, that will vary, it's a question of who naturally rises to the top of whichever hierarchy is concerned. That will obviously be different people in eg a business environment, a battlefield, or on a Friday night on the high street! |

I have only ever met one such man in my life. And no, he did not whip out his authenticated alpha-male certificate out of his wallet; nor did he shout it across the restaurant. It just felt that he was. And once I learnt who he was, it made sense
I would say that he was a bit dominant; but not in the masta-type dominant nor in the 50 thingy type
When I see profiles here of 'alpha'-males or usernames of the same, I naturally, start comparing them to this man I met; and there is no comparison |
