can be verified on the governments website what the milage was at every mot. my dad has a 6 year old car that's done a genuine 4000 miles. he's 80 odd and doesn't go far. so who knows

I always check dvla status and do a finance hpi check.

I would rather buy high mileage;

Low mileage engines; especially ones that have hardly ever got warm, can be in worse state than a regularly serviced engine that has been "well used".

Probably be a lot more for that price when later on this year when vw fix their emissions problems and they end up way down on power

Actually my Golf has just had the new map put in, 2 days ago; it's quicker and has a bit more midrange torque .

Just feels a bit flatter at very low revs.
