"Vote" for them?.. Give the Right Honourable member a damn good lobbying?... Call on them to take a poll from one of their constituents?

Mines a lovely chap Mark Lancaster not the tallest though. One of the only MP's I've known that actually went round knocking on people's doors on his own.

I quite like my MP - Stephen McPartland, which considering he is a tory is something I never thought I'd say. I'll never vote for him but if I ever meet him I will shake his hand and thank him as he regularly goes against tory party line and was only one of a few who voted against last weeks attacks on the disabled.

To be honest it's a good job he's so opposed to same sex marriage else I;d really be struggling to find a reason to dislike him!

My MP is the Secretary for the environment and rural affairs, never met her but yes I'd vote for her. My old MP actually held the same post in the last government, he was a nice chap, I enjoyed a nice cup of coffee with him in my living room once

Margaret Beckett.

I used to really respect her, and campaigned for her tirelessly during my teenage and early twenties. The expenses scandal, her response to it and more recently her views on current party events means that I'd never work for her again. Although I still vote for the party in her constituency, I campaign in the next door one now.

No. Dreadful voting record and happy to shaft most of his constituents when given any chance.

I still write on a regular basis though.

Bump!

Thanks all for your very considerate replies.

My question was inspired having seen a photo poster of the Right Honourable Member for Gosport....and thinking "Yes, I definitely would..."

Way back in my youth ,,,,,,, I once flounced out from a party political reception when my local candidate refused to condemn a decision to allow a former BNP sympathiser to join the ranks of our campaign group...

Not that it mattered one jot as we were never in with a chance of winning even the tiniest amount of support in demographic historically dominated by the other side,,,

But I do seem remember we had party political themed cocktails and canapés ....

Ahhh where would we all be without cheesy nibbles eh!
