so, i want to start doing weights to compliment my current regime of running and circuits/exercise classes.

i feel i do a lot of leg stuff (i could barely sit down tues-thurs this week ) but don't feel like i do a lot of arm or chest/back stuff.

today i went to the gym after work and did the following:

10 min rowing

3 x reps of these:

deltoid press on level 3 (not sure if this is kg but thats where the pin went lol)

chest press on level 3

triple point dumbell raise both arms with 6kg

triple point tricep curls on both arms with 6kg

40s ab roller

40s sit ups

20 high lat pulls on level 5

1min plank

20min walk at 3.3mph

my heart rate was at endurance level for 10%, fat burn for 63% and easy for 23%....not sure what happened for the other 4%, maybe i died??

does this seem ok?

ideally i would do more deadlift/squats etc as i enjoy doing those in circuits but the staff gym at my work cant have bars in as it is unmanned so we just have dumbells up to 10kg and power bags up to 25kg...we have a few machines though.

I would recommend giving bodypump a shot, or try cross fit or boot camp. Being in a class with others helps me to push myself further. Lost 2stone since beginning of Jan so it def works.

i already do a lot of classes such as boxercise, zumba, clubercise, and tried suspension training the other day (i dont do them all every week...it depends what fits around the other things i do)

i really enjoy the weight lifting i do as part of my circuits but can only do them at lunchtimes at work

I'd substitute one of the dance/cardio classes for a weights class. Maybe alternate the days. Getting a balance of cardio, stength & flexibility is key.

again it depends on what fits really. i'd ideally like to get a workout i can do at the gym on my own so was just after a bit of advice about what i had cobbled together myself tonight to see if it was any good as a workout.

Have you ever thought of doing a kettle bell class?

"Have you ever thought of doing a kettle bell class? "

I'm not looking for classes as I can't always make them at the time they are on. I'm looking for a workout I can do as and when I can get to the gym.

Easy enough to follow a class and get to know the routine and then work on your own

I distant to get hufe and I know lifting won't necessarily make me huge muscle wise. Just after a bit of guidance on what I did last night and how I can improve it.

I see and yes that is good. There are few ways like mixing the workout up and alwais changing it and intensity, by confusing your bodys natural muscle memory you will alwais see results x.
