I find the natural look more appealing to a woman.
Just being your self is great but eyes seem to do it for me.

If you think the natural look is more appealing to a woman ..... are you asking men if they need makeup ? |

I hardly ever wear make up, I don't like it and I don't feel I need it, I don't mean that in a vain way, I just don't think I look better with it in
It's funny how many people expect you to wear it though, if your going out etc
I met one guy off here and he commented on the fact I had none on and said he preferred women who made an effort
So now when I have a meet I put a bit on just to keep them happy
However I don't think that just because you don't wear it that means your lazy, don't care about your looks or haven't made an effort |

I do wear it if I'm going out, out as it makes me look much better.

However I recently changed my Kik avatar to one with no make up and received more compliments than my well made up pictures. Go figure. I guess men and women see things differently after all. |

My mum tells me off if I don't 'make an effort' as she puts it! I'm jealous of all you folks that can wear no make up. I scare children when I'm au natural in fact I had an eye infection (and couldn't wear eye makeup) a few weeks back and everyone kept asking was I alright cos I looked so tired/ill x |

I look better with makeup, but I look fine without because that's what people are used to when they look at me. I've got dry lips at the moment, and my lip balm is slightly pink.. Apparently it looks nice but it looks a little odd to me because I'm not used to it.
Plus I know fuck all about makeup. The only time I ever wore makeup every day was when I went through my Emo phase. Black hair and sweeping fringe with big black eyes and pale skin.
Then I see women with their amazing contouring skills and I feel like an alien who's been dropped onto this planet with no clue.
I wouldn't even know where to start with 'proper' makeup.
When I go out for dinner or whatever, I slap on a bit of BB cream, some blush, some mascara and just leave it at that.
I once had a makeover for a photo shoot and I had no idea what was being put on my face...
Yes I probably need makeup, no I don't wear it |

You see it's a tricky one really, when mine were little family used to get them play makeup for birthdays and xmas just to wear in the house, problem is they grow up and then get to an age when they want to plaster it on and go outside with friends, then you're telling them to wipe half of it off |

"I look better with makeup, but I look fine without because that's what people are used to when they look at me.
Yes I probably need makeup, no I don't wear it
If I was lucky enough to have skin like yours I wouldn't wear foundation blush or powder xx"
I've got lots of freckles and moles so the makeup helps to cover them a bit. I don't mind them but they're very obvious |

Your a similar colouring to me. I'd say go to a makeup counter. Buying off the shelf can be difficult even for me and I'm a makeup addict. No7 in boots with test your shade. The foundations are usually about 30 quid. If you want to just buy something and give it a go. Most boots also have a makeup lady still just ask her to recommend one with pink undertones rather than yellow. Cheap 10 pound ish foundations borjouis is the best but they have more yellow than pink. Pale pinks and greens are your colours. I hate pale pink though so look for a good nude lipstick wise. Lip crayons are a good starter because the colour isn't as pigmented so not quite as strong in terms of getting used to it xx |

"I don't wear much makeup .Natural better than plastered on .
What about well applied makeup that isn't plastered on? There is a middle ground, you know. Unless you're just bad at applying it.
any do you think those that think they look better are bad at applying it. I just can't stand the feel of it and never in my life has anyone said I'd look better with make up on I wear lipstick and mascara when going out and tinted moisturiser during the day but I was blessed with good skin I don't feel the need to cover it up"
I have perfect skin, I don't think I've ever had a spot in my life, it's soft as a babies and my complexion is even.
I think it's great that you like to go without makeup, but I feel like you're insinuating that you're better than people who choose to wear makeup? If I want to 'plaster' my makeup on for a more dramatic look, I will. If I want to cover up my (arguably) perfect skin, I will. I love the ritual of putting makeup on, I love being able to change the way I look to suit my mood with makeup. I don't need makeup at all, but people are superior than me because they don't wear makeup.
It's a personal choice |

I think it's up to women if they want to wear make-up and I think men should stop thinking everything we do is, or should be, about them.
I don't think I "need" make-up but I choose to wear it when I want to.
I don't really care what men, or anyone else prefers. |

Thank you very much, that is praise indeed
I like contouring too, but Im a fan of fake eyelashes, colours, added beauty spots, diamantes, glossy lips. I like the glamour of it all. I would feel I was blending into the background if I didnt have it.
Thats not to say that some women do look fantastic with no make up on, or minimal, but its just me.

My mum tells me off if I don't 'make an effort' as she puts it! I'm jealous of all you folks that can wear no make up. I scare children when I'm au natural in fact I had an eye infection (and couldn't wear eye makeup) a few weeks back and everyone kept asking was I alright cos I looked so tired/ill x "

Pretty hard not to conform when it's splashed all over the TV and magazines I don't always think it's the fault of the individual in thinking that they look awful without make up on you only have to see articles in magazines with celebrities without make up. Sometimes self loathing is forced upon people rather than it being their own feeling. |

I do and don't need it - I often just let my natural skin remain and breathe at the surface.
But there are times when I just want to enhance how I look. It's a bit like the difference between only wearing functional clothing all the time, irrespective of how they look - I'm focused on the style first and foremost (though useless but attractive clothes won't be purchased).
We're fortunate that make-up gives us so much potential to experiment and fine touch our look. I use it for myself and if others love how I look, it's a bonus. |

The irony.
By definition, wearing make up to 'look your best' is declaring that without it, you don't.
Make up is fun, but it's not necessary.

I wear makeup sometimes when I meet men on here, makes me feel better and it covers up my face when it goes red.
I have met three women on here only none of them wore makeup or perfume, I would like to meet a woman who wore the type of makeup I like, it turns me on, and nice perfume. |

Don't be embarrassed by that! Your skin is the biggest organ in your body and more men should take care of it! |

I love makeup. If I need it or not I'm gonna blend that shit until my arms ache, apply mascara until my lashes are caked, spend 20 minutes perfecting my brows and make sure my contour is on point because I just love it |

"There's a lot of self loathing on this thread.
not really,,makeup is FUN
Apart from those who have voiced negativity towards how they look when they are not conforming to beauty standards expected of them.
Wanting To look your best is not self loathing.....nor is it conforming to beauty standards.
The irony.
By definition, wearing make up to 'look your best' is declaring that without it, you don't.
Make up is fun, but it's not necessary.
"
Of course i don't look my best without make up. I have shit skin and i use it to enhance my features. I don't see how that is ironic. |

I wonder why there is even a debate on this
Does it even matter
Some like it
Some don't ..
I don't berate the ones that don't or question them
Personal choice and all that ... Jeeez there are worse things a person could do
Like belittling someone for a preference |

I know....there'd be uproar if i claimed that everyone who doesn't wear make up is slovenly....i don't really get why we are made to feel like we have issues.... |
