Hello Fabsters,
Never posted in forum before so please be patient with me : )
I have just updated my profile text as i have had a message from a couple asking me to vouch for someone I have met .
This made me a bit uncomfortable as my veris are hidden because I find it protects myself & my veris from unwanted attention & I like to keep things private . I have messaged the couple & also the person they were asking me to vouch for to let them both know that I don't like to do this but I will this once .
Well my question to you guys is I have now put this on the end of my profile saying I'm not happy to do this, but I'm now thinking that I have too much information on my profile & it's going to look like I'm asking too much of people. Could someone take a look for me ? I maybe worrying for nothing but any criticism would be good Thank you x |

Personally I wouldn't have posted on the profile and just told the person who asked that I wasn't happy doing it. I think profiles are for letting people know what you are looking for rather than putting anything that annoys you on it

Nothing wrong with your profile, in fact, compared to some on here it's very brief and to the point. Remember it's your profile and you put on there whatever you like and sod what anyone thinks......
Saying that, probably 8/10 fellas won't even read the text and go straight to perve at your pics, haha |

You don't have to explain yourself to anyone. No matter how you choose to manage your profile, someone here will have an issue with it, do what you want to do yourself. |

Looked at it quickly, for me there's far too much text, I do normally read all profiles before considering to message or not, but most guys don't read profiles, just look at the pics, so I'd say, you will get a lot of guys messaging that don't meet your preferences for this very reason. |

For me there is no value to reading information about what a person doesn't want..
To me a profile should include the sort of clear information needed to gauge potential compatibility and mutual appeal and availability....
Clear information that specifically identifies what we offer and expect eliminates the need to add superfluous information about what we don't want....

this.... i believe that a profile is akin to giving someone a first impression....
and if that is all negatives...its says a lot....but it doesn't really scream "fun people to be around!" |

"Thanks guys I've been on site for a little while now & just don't want to end up with a profile that reads like a list of negatives ! Lol x
"
mine's very negative, it doesn't put people off even though it's intended to.
i think your profile isn't long at all. |

Agreed, on the whole it is quite simple. we all want to have sex. We may differ in our kinks/gender etc but that is easy enough to specify outside the profile text... if it's too long i switch off...if it say I don't this that and the other I switch off.....if I meet you for coffee I'll know if i want to take it further and you probably will too.....
as for veris i believe that they should be public and I have no problem being contacted regarding someone I have met...I won't give away state secrets though! It is supposed to be a community after all. |

I had this happen to me last week with a female wanting to know what this guy was like who she was chatting to and I had met. Told her if she wanted to know anything ask him herself. I'm not here to discuss people to anyone. As someone said in my thread it's plain lazy |

Also you can ask others not to post a veris about you to....and visa versa. If someone needs to keep notches then there's some identity issues going on and for me definately one to avoid. Notches can imply a lot of things. |

Yes this is my thoughts too & I always think that not everyone will like everyone !
So even if I did say this person is a great guy ect , they may still not be what the person is looking for : ) |

Perhaps split meet and social veris or have an option to allow individuals to view veris
There have been a few new female profile on the irish site which were instantly verified but then the veri is hidden.
What is the point of the verification systmen when it can be easily abused? |

During the years of my membership on this site.... My avoidance of using the public verification system, the public friends list function and the picture fabbing function have made no impact whatsoever on my successful use of this site,,,
I have no complaints.....
But if people feel those functions add value to their experience on the site..... it matters not one jot to me...
I'm not influenced by other peoples reviews,,,, |
