Politicians will never please everyone, it's the very nature of the beast. One person wants one thing, another wants another. Each parliamentarian is there to serve their constituency and each constituency has very different economic and life needs so no one will ever be fully satisfied.
That to me is what makes politics so interesting. |

Political issues are far too important to be left to politicians |

I want things to be fair and equal and to give recognition to the hard working public servants on the ground floor dealing with the shit and the mess that has been created. |

That's why we all have the right to debate, all have the right to campaign and meet our politicians either at the house of commons or in their consituency offices to give our opinion, and most importantly, the right to vote in elections |

I have raised concerns and petitioned issues that effect me and my colleges and I was in a "round about way" told to move on in short jerky movements |

We are represented by the least amongst us.

Then you have the right to do something about it, it may not change anything but that is democracy in action.
You can talk to your local MP, campaign parliament, write to Downing Street, strike in certain public sectors, use unions to argue your case, vote stand for election, all of these things are afforded to you as a democratic right in this country so use them |

Sadly the elections are full promises that become the issues to address for the following election How our _iews as an electorate become well informed and how we make our voices more readily heard and acted upon, is a serious challenge |

This is very true, which is why we have to use our voices to make ourselves heard. That's why I advocate speaking to MPs, make your voice heard, as without that the MPs and parliament do not know. |

No Clegg had little choice in the matter of tuition fees, that would have passed with or without his involvement. Politics, especially in coalition governments, is about give and take, that particular issue would have come to be whether it was a coalition or a Conservative majority government. |

I think the moderating influence of the Lib Dems on policy, during the coalition, is much more evident now the Tories have a freer reign on policy. |

"Some care, most don't but is it me or every time I heard or see a member of parliament or government talking about cuts or the economy and the E.U I just think your not in the real world and full of shit. most politicians not all have lead privileged lives of course they are not ,they make decisions on our behalf though because supposedly we voted them in to that position
Actually the majority of politicians, from local parish council, right up to parliament have not loved privileged lives, yes, I won't deny some have, they are the ones who get publicity, but there are many who work very hard at their jobs, and have earned the right to represent the general public in the job they do.
Im sure thats the case. However i also know quite a few in shall we say deprived areas who are affluent and havent worked a day in their lives. I could also name one who is senior in one party who has been linked to child abuse and is still in a postion of power. They have been under investigation for 4 years!
Many get in because of who they know and parents or partners. "
I don't doubt that they do get in because of that at all, that's not what I was trying to get across i know my old mp came in like that, however many don't. They are not all stuck up people who only care about themselves, the majority care about their jobs and the people the represent. |

I think and hope you right. There were probably only 10 out of 60 like that in the years i worked with them at one authority.
One litterally turned every meeting into a dicussion about dog mess even when much more serious things where on the agenda. Ive seen some fall asleep in meetings with execs about what jobs they were gonna cut and decisions about cutting social care adults and children. Im only speaking about one particular authority which i hope is outside the norm xx |
