Not something we use but we know they are used in clubs etc.
Sure I saw a club selling off their surplus supllies before the ban came in.
Apparently they're not to be part of the ban.

The information sent out to the prison service on Friday says that Poppers will not be exempt substances when the Act becomes law on April 6th. |

The reality is that poppers ARE harmful. Strangely it's the legal new variant of isopropyl nitrite that can cause irreparable damage to the eyes. The older ones (butyl and amyl nitrite) which are banned aren't as harmful.
For the facts search for "poppers maculopathy".
I went for an eye examination and they asked me if I used any recreational drugs and I asked like what and they said poppers and then explained that even occasional use can cause permanent damage to the eyes.
So called reputable outlets for poppers do give you a sheet of paper outlining that they are only to be used for stated purpose (room odorisers). |

It is a quite recent phenomena as isopropyl has only replaced butyl for a few years and many people don't own up to taking them. The crazy thing is the amyl and butyl, which never caused these problems get banned while the isopropyl remain legal.
It was just that you mentioned cheap poppers from pound shops which intimated that you can still get amyl from a 'reputable' store. All on general sale in this country at sex stores, clubs etc are the newer isopropyl variety.
