They will announce the budget tomorrow 12.30pm, will it be all doom and gloom? Or has he hidden a rabbit in the box like a magic trick?

They are looking to cut back even more, such as pension tax and will fuel duty rise? what else might be on the cards?

More cuts to help for the most needy in our society to pay for tax cuts for the richest. This is what you voted for Britain!

I know they announced that people on working tax credits and one other benefit I cant remember can now save up to £50 a month over 2 yrs and they will make a payment at the end of 2 yrs of half the amount.

Only issue is the only people who can claim this are unlikely to be able to Dave, a fact indicated by the very low budget they have put aside for this scheme.

I'm sure there will be plenty of stealth taxes and talk of how he is balancing the books etc etc. Shame the deficit and national debt continue to grow despite all the austerity and budget cuts to every public service!

This stamp duty increase of 3% is a real kicker. I understand the logic in it to take the heat out of the housing market and generate more tax income but it's really making us have to think about current house purchases.

July budget - because they'd just been elected.

November CSR...not technically a budget.

This one - budget as normal.

"Whats the definition of "rich"?"

Good question...

People's definition of rich is subjective and is usually twice their current net worth.

Some people would define rich as having more money than you "need" to live, but definition of "needs" vary dramatically.

One way of dividing the rich from the middle class is through the top tax rate, which kicks in at £150,000 a year in the UK.

Interesting, I've found some stats that suggest you need to be making more than "just" £140,000 a year to be among the top 1% of UK earners.

if they're going without food for their addiction then it's unlikely they are affluent. they don't really have the money for luxuries or addictions but choose to fund them anyway (coz addiction is complicated like that and fucks people up so they get their priorities wrong).

if you've enough money for all the basics you're surviving ok, definitely not affluent.

if you genuinely have enough money for luxuries and to make your own choices and not have to put up with what society can offer you then you're probably affluent. the more choices you have the more affluent it is likely you are too.

It's not despite the budget cuts - it's a direct result of budget cuts.

when you take money out of the economy, something really weird happens - the economy gets smaller.

No-one could have predicted this of course - except for a tiny number of super-intelligent people who understand this really complex mathematical function known as 'subtraction'

I thought he was bringing in a change - that they can't deduct the cost of their mortgage interest from their rental income when they calculate their profit on which to pay tax.
