Your inner chimp...

Does he/she have a name?

I've just started reading The Chimp Paradox... I've only read chapter one cause the book just arrived today and I've decided that since it's research for work I'm going to read it in their time.

I'm currently thinking of an appropriate name for my inner chimp.

Has anyone read it? If so, what are your thoughts? And what's his/her name?

Steve Peters, the Sports Psychologist, was working at Liverpool helping Luis Suarez with anger management and with England preparing for the World Cup. Luis Suarez bit Ivanovic and England didn't get out of the group. Paradox indeed

"Ive heard of it. Is it just another take on ego states?"

From what I can gather it's more about emotional wellbeing. So far I'm intrigued. I don't usually do self-help/mumbo jumbo books.

I'm also reading The Games People Play by Eric Berne.

People are fascinating.

I've done course's with work where they talk about the inner chimp, and I've heard that book mentioned a lot aswell as others.

I'm not 1 for that type of book, I don't need anyone to tell me how to handle myself and I find life a lot more enjoyable when I let the chimp out of the cage.

My chimp gets released quite often depending on where I'm working and how much my boss/manager/supervisor irritates me.

It's utterly fascinating. I still haven't decided on a name yet though.

I'm currently reading this book. I must say, I'm finding it fascinating reading. A lot of what it's saying is making complete sense to me.

It seems my chimp has been making too many decisions for me for far too long now. I really need to learn how to control my chimp better!
