Everyone gets blocked.
I've literally just this minute been blocked for saying I won't meet someone. He won't message me again accidentally that way and he won't show up in my searches, so it's a good thing. |

There, you said it. 'Won't message you again'.
This is absolutely fine. I've never had a problem getting blocked for this reason, never.
But just tell me! Rather than let me think I'VE done or said something wrong.

"I have been messaging a guy on fab then all of a sudden am blocked yet there was nothing to make him do that.No reason."
That happens at least 10 times a day for the average man on Fab, but shock horror, its happen once to a woman, lets plaster it all over the forums, how dare they do that. |

I find my block list is getting longer, its a useful tool as it sorts out who and who I wont meet. they don't appear on my search. I have also been blocked don't know why don't care, i just move on. |

I've blocked a lady who said she wasn't interested so I wasn't tempted to send another message, then unblocked her only to find she's blocked me. I think the message is pretty clear - a block is a 'not interested' so move on to someone else. |

If I find anyone has blocked me then I'll counter block back - I'm petty like that
I rarely block first (only once when a gay guy was becoming a persistent pain).
You do get some strange blocks though - yesterday someone Fabbed my pics, sent me a wink, so I winked back. Later on I noticed they'd messaged me to thank me for the wink - when I went to message back (a few hours after their initial message) I found I was blocked!? Strange but their prerogative of course

This is the main reason I block, if they're not interested in meeting or my mesaage gets deleted, it just saves time when I do searches in the future, and of course not mesaaging them again further down the line, I've been blocked by forum users who live miles away, they obviously don't like my comments, that's the only other reason I can think of for being blocked. |

How is it their loss they didn't want to meet you? I hate the Saying it's their loss, it's not as they didn't lose anything in the first place.
In response to the OP people block for a variety of reasons you will send yourself potty taking every block you get personally maybe he just didn't like you after chatting to you for a bit. |

Be glad if they block you- its efficient.
1 you dont have to go through the role of thanks but no thanks,
2 you wont waste time of chatting up with them again.
3 if aome one blocks you why would you want to meet them if they dont want to meet you?

people say "oh well its their loss" when something like this happens so that person can feel better about the situation and move on without too much negative thought.
It's sure better than thinking "oh well its my loss"
Don't worry about it if people want to feel that its "Their loss" if it makes them feel a tiny bitbetter then thats a good thing surely. |

It's slightly bizarre if you've been messaging, think it's going well & then you get blocked. I would probably think WTF is that all about.
As there is fuck all you can do about it you need to put it behind you & forget about him. |

"I block people for all kinds of seemingly spurious reasons. It's not meant to be an insult."
It's not an insult. Someone must have an incredibly thin skin and a huge feeling of a need for acceptance to be hurt by a stranger not wanting further contact with them for whatever reason.
Do these people cry and complain if a stranger doesn't return their smile in a street or a shop?
Mountains. Molehills. |

"I have been messaging a guy on fab then all of a sudden am blocked yet there was nothing to make him do that.No reason."
I sometimes block people who I have contacted or they dont answer. It saves me pestering them or being a pain.I also block people who are very self opinionated or set their age limits and then complain when they dont get messages.
Having the private notes on the side that you can save on does not always work as it resets, also the preferences do not do what they are supposed to. |

The issue with a block is the "did they mean to" element - if you are chatting away then you "suddenly" get blocked there's the thought that they may have pressed block by mistake as we are all wonderful human beings put on this earth to enrich the lives of others so why would someone block me...?
I've said it before but a simple two stage block process would end the unknown element - You press the block button then you have a multiple choice to confirm the block such as:
Too close
Related
Not if you were the last person on fab
I work with you
Too old
Too young
Too fat
Too thin
Not what I'm looking for
Etc
Oh the list is endless but at least it would stop these threads appearing - any more suggestions?

Are you agreeing with me that your own comment was inappropriate? we have a mutual friend and I appologise from the bottom of my heart if I my humour was misread ,blocks do hurt peoples feelings though ,not mine I might add ,I really don't care about people who are uncaring ,its a tool that's used disparagingly and to limit messages but without knowing the person because you can't possibly know a person from the written word or judge their humour you can only make an assumption but as you don't care its of no significance

A few weeks ago, I sent a no thanks message to someone. I didn't block him. This morning I got the same message from him again.
If I block him, to prevent him contacting me for a third time, he'll probably think that's for "no reason".
Should I really be expected to send another polite no thank you and explain I'm blocking him to prevent him messaging me again? Just because he can't keep his own notes on who he's messaged and who said no? I don't see why.
Y'see guys complain when we don't reply. When we do, we get 'but why?', abuse, attempts to persuade us or they try again a few weeks later. But when we block, it's for "no reason" and we're still wrong and unreasonable and awful. |

Of course there will be a reason...some guys get off on chatting/msging and have little intention of meeting..It is fantasy and once they have cum, they may feel embarrassed and block you..
Sometimes I block guys who look at my profile and I recognise 'never in a month of sundays'will we meet,so I block,it saves everyone time.. |
