Well I wasn't aware they had sexual connotations in the 90s when I was wearing one as a teenager. Not something I'd wearing now, I have no desire to go back there. |

In the 70's most porn films were made in California, where a state law decreed that females could not appear totally naked.
The producers of these films used the choker to get around this and operate within the law(arguably).
This is where the sexual connotation comes from. |

I really like chokers, especially gothic type ones.
Why do people think that everything has to come down to sex. When I see anyone wearing jewellery it doesn't cross my mind that they are wearing as some kind of code for sex. |

Had a wee Google and apparently Victorian prostitutes wore them and some women wore them to show they were into girls. |

Yes but there aren't many today who remember that far back. |

Or maybe, just maybe, people like wearing them and feel they accessorise their chosen outfit well and it has absolutely diddly squat to do with sex. There's a radical notion |

"I'm still waiting for ma Cuban heels & flares to come back into fashion "
Love Cuban heels but never been able to find any. I used to be kitten out in full velvet bell bottomed suit most days back in the early 90s. Oh to be that size again!
But to the main point, yes chokers are hot. Easy really suits them when she wears them.

My daughter is now wearing the plastic stretchy ones that I used to wear in the 90s
I like gothic lacey ones
It's not a signal that I want my clothes torn off and my body ravaged |

"Seeing more and more girls in their early 20's wearing them these days, outwith 90's girlbands always thought they had kind of sexual connotations. Is it simply just a fashion trend now?"
Not if it has SLUT written on it like mine! X pics in profile |

hiding from cock pics. |
I have some and enjoy wearing them, I don't see it as anything past a piece of jewellery though.
My youngest daughter wears them also, they sell them in children's jewellery and accessory shops.
I feel they look lovely but I don't feel they are anything more than a style of necklace. |
