So, three of us in the car on the way home from a course, me driving, a co pilot and a navigator.

We jump in the car and I ask the navigator to set the satnav for home.

"Don't need to set it for home"

"Really, do you know the way?"

"Nope" says he, "I'll set it for Brighton."

"Eh?" Says me.

"I'll set it for brighton."

"Why Brighton?" Says me.

"Because you know the way home from Brighton, so we don't need the satnav for that bit of the drive."

Technically he's right, I do know the way home from Brighton. I'm still not sure it was the best plan though.....

Never set your satnav for home - if someone nicks your satnav, or car, they know where you live and they might even have your keys

That happened to me once. Got my sat nave stolen in John O Groats. By the time I got home to Land's End the bastards had made off with my bathroom suite.

Never save your home address as "home". A stolen satnav with a list of recent addresses is simply that, random meaningless addresses. Other than that, you're spot on.

Mine was my dad's house. Then I realised the potential consequences & changed it to an old address!!

Not sure about other car models but Range Rover allows you to hide sat nav locations with a 4 digit code

Central

My phone satnav also has my home stored under the street name, rather than listed as 'home'.
