They make a great bun and butter pudding! Butter them and spread some berry jam on them before adding the custard mix. In the oven for 45 minutes on a medium heat.

I don't like poisonous things aka raisins, currants, etc, so it's the chocolate ones from Tesco for me.

At the risk of bringing on early onset diabetes, they are awesome toasted and topped with Nutella.

I saw the news item where the bakery in Southend now bakes hot cross buns without the cross after an attack by fundamentalists

Much deeper than that, there is a fundamentalist reign of terror in Southend

I've not eaten any for years, though my atheist family served them up each time, for some reason.

It was featured on a satirical website, unfortunately the brains behind the EDL didn't see that.

Still I did hear some inbred ask for them in Tesco yesterday.

Many years ago I used to work in the bakery dept at safe ways and used to put bun spice into a warm oven to send the smell round the store and it sure pushed the sales of hot cross buns up!

I think their just sticky teacakes if they're toasted. But, toasted with melty butter is just divine whatever the bread-type product.
