Now, I know the reporter in question has undoubtedly suffered trauma, but £38 million worth?
If anyone would secretly like to film me, I will split the cash with you. Likely to be in the region of £14.50 each. |

It's a gross invasion of privacy for sure, and horrific for the reporter in question.
The award is huge though - she'll never need to work again. Is it proportionate to the crime? I really don't know the answer to that. |

Although she will receive a huge amount of money, almost half is due from the individual who filmed and stalked her. He doesn't have the cash.
The remaining sum comes from two corporate bodies who own or owned the chain of hotels.....I sm sure that in line with many court settlements in the US, they will argue the sum down to a few million.
The fact is that the individual has been convicted and served time for the offence. |

Any hotel which has allowed a stalker to be aware of a lone female's room number and then proceeds to book him into an adjoining room on several occasions, deserves all it gets in the way of having to pay out.
