A couple of guys have popped up on FB 'that I may know' LinkedIn as well but I don't add them.
I don't like the way the sites work with the trail of who knows who, knowing my like we'd end up having a mutual contact  |

Could it also be via their details being in your phone? Bit scary potentially. I'd recommend having your friends list set to private, or viewable only by current friends.
But I'm a bit para like that. |

See my number is already hidden in fb so it shouldn't be used for such purposes really should it...its only there so I can use fb on my phone. Damn you facebook. Lucky for me nobody should recognise me since I'm usually on all fours with my arse up in the air, my face is generally being stuffed into the pillow hehe x |

She's never searched for a yoga teacher or liked any pages online. Speaks about it over lunch & *boom yoga teacher in her areas pops up on her timeline an hour later!!  |

If you don't want it to happen, unsync your contacts (email and phone) from Facebook, whatsapp, messenger, Twitter, Instagram and any other app that might be requesting to use them. I haven't had any pop up for ages now so I've managed to kill it off I think |

Whatsapp contacts always pop up in the "people you may know". It's not great if somebody decided to contact everyone on your Facebook friends list but it has proved interesting perusing the Facebook profile of so called single guys ... |

Yeah... I have the same with James Martin after my Mum announced that he would be the perfect husband for me. She's decided that I should marry him and after her big announcement he pops up pretty much daily on my suggested posts on FB. |

I'm not sure that removing the phone number is enough. I had a three message exchange with a guy on here a couple of years ago. It seemed iffy so I ran his face pic through a reverse image search and nothing came up. About a month later, he was on my 'people you may know' on Facebook. That exact face pic wasn't even there as far as I could see. We never exchanged phone numbers or anything like that.

That's the thing I only have one email which is for work and family so I never give it out on here. I usually give my number if I really like someone and just block if they pester. But we exchanged nothing in this instance apart from the face pics. |

If you search for someone on Facebook to see if you can find them they will automatically appear on your people you may know list. All phone numbers stored on your phone will show up as people you may know.
It's surprising how many people who send you their phone number have the same phone number linked to their Facebook account. And for those who don't already use it just type someone's phone number into Facebook search and chances are you will see that person pop up |

I've had a few pop up on FB who I have never made any contact with.
I think it is because I do have some swingers as FB friends who must know them or have contacted them because they aren't on the friends lists. Other than that I have no idea. |

As soon as you what's app or store number in mobile phone or other person does it links with Facebook
Also sometimes people just can't help looking in Facebook for your name in your town if their number is stored in your phone it will show your profile . If I say looked for ( example Theresa southampton) I would get a pretty good chance of finding them . However if I searched Ann I might find it harder
I reckon with a bit of know how most of people are traceable in the net . Just by having a bit of background info and a bit of stalking
Then you look at blocking . You think blocking means they can't see you . That's wrong if you look in privacy and add the name of the person you can't see and want to find out if They blocked you . You will see them
Also Facebook friends algorithm is well complicated and if your interested google how it's done |

My number isn't on Facebook and have had quite a few people pop up in the people you may know section - I am already Facebook friends with a few who I met on here and are friends with in the real world too but it was quite shocking when it first happened |

I know the answer. I know this because I fell foul of it.
If you snoop someone on facebook and have a teensy peep at their profile...hey presto the next time the object of your snoopery logs in you appear on their 'people you may know'. Learnt that lesson fast haha! |
