Wild animals should never be used for entertainment purposes (including zoos in my opinion). If we're talking about domestic animals it all depends on the welfare of the animal - are the training methods reward based and humane, is the environment stressful or detrimental to the animal's well-being, and what happens to the animal when it is no longer able to perform? So greyhound racing would be an example of an unacceptable use for me.

We need more wild lion's on football pitches during games. I doubt we'd see them falling over and feigning injury as often then?
