How many people have met someone who's profile pic shows the person looking what you'd consider attractive and worth meeting up! only to find out when you meet up with them that they look alot different?? it's only happened to me once but didn't really ruin the evening!! it just took me by suprise plus i didn't really say anything about it to them!!

Perhaps that's what comes of meeting people based, entirely, on how they look

We have found that people generally look better in the flesh.

Photos give us an indication of what someone looks like but its not an exact science.

I've looked at photos of myself before and thought "who the fuck is that?...oh me!"

not a hideous pic + benefit of the doubt

we were invited to a party not long back , the hostess opened the door and we didn,t recognise her,3 dress sizes bigger and we had trouble stepping over her and leaving as soon as the fun started..not a fair thing to do

twice its happened to me - one bloke hadnt opened his mouth to smile in his pic (he had no teeth) and the other had pics of him when he was a fit young athelete (10 years ago)

they were both nice blokes but as they werent "as advertised", they were sent packing lol

however, twice in 10 years is quite good going really isnt it?

I take awful pictures im not at all photogenic !and its true I have had friends meet men for the first time and their original pics were from 1985 !but someone could be beautiful looking but boring and self obsessed when you get to know them!and Im talking from experience here.

I once was chatted with a man in his 40s and seemed very nice. Saw his photos which was a nice pic and when he turned up it was very clear that the picture of him was when was in his early 30s as he was later 40s now.

It was a massive shock. He stepped out of the car and the first thing i noticed was his shoes. The he had beige trousers and a beige shirt and a jacket, but please dont get me started on the jacket. He Wasnt smiling in the pic but it seemed like he had lost all his front teeth since the picture was taken.

I mailed him afrer to say i thought it bad he was deceiving people like that with his photo.

I saw him on the same site 2 years later and he still had the same pic on.

Only one really springs to mind...and that's because he was really awful. His pic showed him looking like a younger Robert Redford...the reality a cross between Bruce Forsythe and Albert Steptoe.

I wasn't amused. If he'd posted what he really looked like I wouldn't have met him...he just wasn't attractive to me at all...his zoot suit and the fact he was bloody boring didn't help his case either!

oh my

this does happen

we met a cpl in ;a hotel lounge once who were at least 10 years older than their pics they sent us

when we pointed that out they got very defensive and said 'why shouldnt they as they still enjoyed swinging - and - you wouldnt meet us otherwise'

sad as it was a nice evening but it would still have been a no

'Ugly' would be an objective thing...weight is not an issue...'unwashed and festering' are just ridiculous things to say. As for 'brains' then...absolutely!...hope that's cleared it up for you!

We use cam to show faces on so we get no surprises and neither do they.

Oh yes been there and got the tee shirt.... pis looked yummy we really were looking forward to meeting.. only to be sorely disappointed on looks, personality and performance but what do you do when caught out like this???

SO what do you do??? report them for not being what they say or look like? just haven't got the heart to voice opinion to the person in question, but when they say they are meeting a mutual friend what do you do? tell the mfriend they're not going to get what they see on profile?

it is such a dilemma....agree that alot actually look better in the flesh though...

we've done the cam thing and find guys just want to put on a sex show and then never meet in person.

Pics can't tell you if they stink though. I met a guy extremely good looking, beautifully dressed but he stank to high heaven of BO. Not nice.

Yeah I ask to cam on msn or on here its a better indication than a pic - and I now tel the anecdote about the stinky man when chatting to them!

There should be a scratch and sniff system on your cam

We make it plain at the start that we won't play on cam for them, so if they ask or hint for it after that then we just tell them we are not interested in a meet now.

Same as if when you ask them how they are after saying hello and they reply with "horny" then we stop the chat until another time. We are not into chatting just so they can get their rocks off for the night.

You dont have to play on cam just turn on cams to show each others face... I talk to loads of friends on skype I would faint if any of them started masturbating lol

Pics are difficult, I have several pics in my private gallery and ones not uploaded to Fabs all taken within 6 months of each other and I look different in all of them, some I look my age , some younger and some older, so when I send pics I send a mixture of all explaining that they are all recent and let the recipient make up their own mind, as I do not have cam
