Some jobs come with amazing perks, for example a friend of mine works at Sky TV, and it really is the most incredible work environment for her.
I have been to visit and they do try and make it the best possible place for people to work and provide so many things that make your life easier there for you- a subsidised 24-hour gym on site a choice of about 4 amazing restaurants and cafes, also subsidised and lots more.
What jobs have you heard of with brilliant benefits? |

I'm suspicious of jobs with perks which appear to be entirely designed to keep you in the office as much of the time as possible.
I don't get paid much relative to what I could in another sector, and I definitely don't work in luxury surroundings, but I work flexitime and that's a brilliant perk because I don't like having to do set hours. |

I used to work for a private healthcare insurance company in Salford quays..
their perks included free 24 hour gym and subsidised restaurant as well as a subsidised tram season ticket...
however they wouldn't let you do flexi time or part time, just set hours (set by them) and they very much frowned on you if you had any time off sick....for all the pros there are bound to be cons that make it not so worthwhile |

I had a job in the eighties for a very progressive employer and the perks for those days were excellent resulting in a low turnover of staff. I don't know of any job now with good perks I'm afraid. |

I work for Amazon we have all the perks you can think off including 24 hour gym , childcare free kindles and laptops, we even have slides and trampolines. Certain days of the week during school holidays we can bring our kids in and they get free entertainment and films and food. |

That's interesting because the media claim working conditions aren't great. What you describe sounds great ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

I work in a lot of restaurants so free food is always my perk, especially when they are training the chefs and they end up cooking the full menu for everyone on site |

I worked for years as a District Nurse. The sense of self worth when you are helping people to heal their wounds, take stitches out gently or make their last days pain free and comfortable were the only perks I needed. |

The media reported on a small case in the picking area. The people that work in the fulfilment centres do work really hard and are under lots of pressure but they still have similar luxuries and rewards they can achieve. Admittedly I'm in the upper offices but progression is always offered from the bottom upwards no matter what position you have |

I've been lucky to visit the Google offices in London, with work, and they do have the most amazing perks for their staff ....
Free restaurants, gym, pool tables, table tennis and so on. But it is designed to keep you in the office as long as possible ![](/icons/s/cool.gif) |

I think they are likely to be very similar to the sky offices. |

No on site restaurant for me. But flexi hours and working from home along with free gym and travel with loads of corporate discounts.
However the icing on the cake is you can put as much specialist coffee and cakes as you want on expenses.

I work in banking
Into office about 9ish then we go for breakfast till 10, about 11am it's a 25min coffee break, then most lunchtime we go out (as on expenses) back to office for about 2ish wined up, and a quicky in the the wine bar about 4.30 before heading home |

No perks in my job whatsoever. I have to pay for parking, no flexi time, no subsidised restaurant.
The only things keeping me there are the lack of other suitable jobs and the fact that my team mates are generally nice folk.
Previously i've had flexi time and free parking and higher wages to boot, but a jobs a job and i'm not ungrateful! |

That has to be a joke? When I returned to the UK, I had the choice to work in banking or to retrain in education. I didn't think banking would be any sort of motivation for me ... I know I made the right decision, despite working thirteen hour days. |

I have the best and worst job in the world. I am in the film business. Currently shooting a Hollywood film near Oxford and I have a lovely spa hotel and use of all the facilities however I am working nights and it's snowing and we are all on the Internet trying to find a local shag as we cannot film in the snow!! We do have a sweet shop, coffee shop and non stop food on set so I am not complaining. |

I've had a couple of jobs with great perks.
I put myself through uni doing night security. One of the site's was a health club, so I turned up about 10pm, set the alarms, hat a swim in the pool, used the jacuzzi, then read the papers and watched sky till the cleaners came at 6am.
Later on, i worked for Orange when it was still a young company. There was an Xbox in the office, a present from Microsoft. A pool table, table football, big orange spacehoppers everywhere, comfy sofas to just chill out on anytime you liked. They gave out so much free stuff too. Massive hamper at Christmas, fleece every winter, cool t shirt every summer, chocolate at Easter, and all sorts of other random things turning up everytime there was an event. Speakers when they launched a music service, cool stainless steel pen when they bought a formula one team, Not to mention free state of the art phone and free calls. |

Private healthcare is a big one for me.
Another is due to the nature of my work a little professional courtesy goes a long way....no waiting around in over crowded waiting rooms.
Oh and perk of driving pretty much any car you want without the need of a deposit! |

I worked as a baggage handler years ago, only perk is the work out you get. No need to go to the gym after work, you are too knackered. You also get paid to get a tan by working outdoors. The female cabin crew and passengers also help pass the time till you are needed to Chuck more bags about.
Every now and then you get a glimpse of what some people get up to on holiday, as there bags burst open. Vibrating bags can be fun, seeing the poor passenger have to remove the batteries from a razor everyone thinking it could be a vibrator lol. |

It wasn't even like that in the 80s when I worked in banking.
At the time I did like that I would dial the concierge service and food would be delivered to my desk. Or that we'd have long boozy lunches but then be back and working through the evening as America was open for business and we had to be in touch with head office (ah, telex, the memories).

When I was finishing school I was a life guard. We had the young military recruits at the pool each week during one of my sessions, so I mingled with them via the changing rooms, as they had their own staff and I was a little surplus. It gave me a taste for military flesh. |

Wasn't "slagging off" the employee at all! merely balancing the concept as to who was the recipient of said perks, kiddies creche or £988million tax break, or avoidance whichever side of the board room you're seated ![](/icons/s/2/eh.gif) |

Ok perhaps not everyday but that was my Friday and not uncommon a few days a week, you can still order any type of food to be delivered to your desk + you can work from home 3 days a week |

My partner has a job where he can take as much holiday as he wants, as long as he doesn't take the piss.
My job means I get to sit around in my PJ's all day every day writing stuff that makes the world better. That's a pretty good perk. |
