One new site member said she'd only been joined up for ten minutes, yet, she had over one hundred messages ??

It must be borderline impossible to use the site for some of these ladies.

That is what filters are for, it's certainly not impossible to use the site to find what you want, when I joined it was on recommendation so I set all filters up straight away and took my time over it.

It can be a little overwhelming when you first join and haven't quite figured out how to use the site features such as the filters.

They should put their filters on then. I once had a photo at the top of hot pics and got over 1000 in a day, I then stopped being such a knob and put more filters on because it's just easier. It's what they're there for and if women choose not to use them then they have no right to complain.

Now I get a grand total of 0 messages unless I've messaged them myself so actually want a reply, and it's great

To be fair I'm guessing for some newbies filters are not the first thing they think of and I guess they find out from experience whether to apply them!

I don't *quite* get the mentality to insta-message a newbie with a 'welcome to the site' message - I can sort of see that they might think they're being friendly and welcoming but I guess they don't factor in its just them and 99 others doing exactly the same thing. To me, if I was on the receiving end of it, I'd find it suffocating and off putting and totally counter productive to what they were trying to achieve

That is true Dan certainly. I guess I was well advised when I joined and I knew where to find them, some people may not realise they are there to begin with.

I only get messages off of people I've previously messaged now, even if it wasa no thanks, they can sstill message.

I know people that have been on a few years and allow anyone to message and get around 100 a day, but they have no filters on and allow messages as want to give people a chance. Personally I can't be bothered to go through that many messages, so have the filters there

So the men are just making it worse, there's not enough women to go round anyway, and some of the new members are being put off, from the start.

I've noticed a few where they've said as much, and said it was too overwhelming, so they've left.

So the men are just making it worse, there's not enough women to go round anyway, and some of the new members are being put off, from the start.

If i open my filters to guys out of my age range but leave my age range up so that the guys get a warning that i'm not interested in them, i get loads of guys message who know i'm not interested, some even apologise for them not being what i'm after.

I don't think messaging newbies is because it's manners or being friendly or welcoming, it's just opportunity.

Plus a lot of guys are just here to fuck anything they can. Seen it when my sister signed up to here, the amount of guys who messaged me asking me to recommend them to my sister (and not let her choose who she wanted herself) was disgusting imo.

Same as when I joined my profile had nothing on it and I had loads of messages already....

I just didn't read them and deleted.... It all died out after a month cos my profile is as such lol

I don't have massive filters set but don't get inundated either. I just ignore messages from those I'm not interested in and have stated so on my profile so the chancers who do spot me although I don't appear in any 'looking for' searches may have got the message I'm not worth them wasting their time over by my previous lack of response. Either that or I am a minger.

I'm sorry rather than pleased to say that I've never been inundated as yet. I've only recently joined and have taken my time to fill in my profile and just look around the site....no I'm not some picture collector before anyone says ??. I can quite understand though that being swamped by requests could be a turn off and discourage ladies from battling through the deluge. Does the same thing happen when a woman posts a new photo? I've often wondered that.

I do like the general atmosphere here so well done to the operators and contributors alike.

I have rigid filters on because I know what I am looking for and would rather have 15 messages a day from guys I want rather than over a hundred from anyone. Don't have time to sift through 30messages, let alone hundreds!

I had filters on as a friend told me the set up and still had over 900 in first 11

Days - so I cancelled and started again a few months later still with high filters yet knowing how to deal with it.... Each one of those emails represents a person and deserves to be treated as such X

I have to admit that I haven't sent a single message out at all without having been contacted first. The sheer volume some of you ladies get is ridiculous, and having realised that when I first joined I've taken the view that if a lady is interested they'll find you. Had a bit of a wait for that to happen mind you but it's been well worth it and been chatting to a genuinely lovely girl these past few days

I've taken my message filters off, not my age filter but the only people messaging me so far are out of my age ranges, will upload a pic and see if that changes anything.

Pretty sure i used to get a lot more messages when i uploaded one. i'll let you know who they're off as well, like the area and ages and stuff.

It's not like if they women weren't 'put off' then you'd just get a chance if you stand in line, you know. The women on this site don't 'go around' and get shared between the men, they fuck only the people who they want to fuck.

From reading the comments on here a common theme seems to be men who either don't read or don't take any notice of a woman's profile and message anyway in case they are just so irrisistable she can't help herself but change her mind. Either that or they only look at the pictures....maybe they should get the Beano delivered every week instead?

But that aside getting loads of messages and getting messages from guys you'd meet is opposite sides of the coin

You could get 20 messages in a hour and still not find anybody suitable

Yes that is very true. The longer you are here the better you can filter out those unsuitable or do not match what you want, and you will find the quality.

Well I have to say thanks to all the single guys on fab who have looked at my profile and NOT messaged. There are lots out there who do obviously read profiles

The results of my 1 hour open filters were 1 wink, 1 friend request and 7 messages, 1 of which was just a compliment, 1 saying I saw you looked at me, 1 saying simply hello and 4 more graphic ones

It settles down after a while especially when your filters are inplace. I personally don't have many filters inplace as I've found newbies and un verified single men are often far more polite than older verified been here for ever men. I average about 30 messages a day. X

To join in on a forum game the other day I had to tick the looking for men box,not have them blocked and have my age range open. Within a minute I had 3 messages from new men. I reverted back to my default and now I get none
