world book day , which character are you ?

Hello Fabbers , Friends and Forumites.

Golly gosh on my way yo.work today I witnessed precessions of Super Heroes, Princesses, characters from books and all sorts of miniature fancy dress people.

The wireless informed me it was World Book Day. A fantastic opportunity for children to dress up as their favourite characters from fiction.

Anything that gets children interested in reading and books is rather spiffing. Hurrah for the written word.

So pooch and I are asking .

If you were to dress up fro World Book Day , who would you be ??

For pooch and I it would have to be Charlie Brown and Snoopy . Or one of the marvellous famous five and Pooch as Timmy the dog lol

Taff and Pooch

Bokowski in any of his books. He drinks, writes, listens to music, and seems to have beautiful, passionate, interesting women who love to fuck fall at his feet!

Or Tom Bombadil.

I was batman for the day. One of the perks/evils of being a children's librarian. To make matters worse none of my colleagues made the effort so I stuck out like a sore thumb. The kids loved it though!

Well. If you excise the dodgy doggerel and nasty fashion sense, he's got a a hot lady, he's a right cool little nature spirit, he doesn't give much of a crap about anyone else apart from what/who's in his care.

And he exists for all of terrestial time.

Plus he likes a giggle.

I've thought about this in some(ie little)depth.

I'm obviously more ignorant than I thought! What book/author are we talking about?

I think I'd be miss Haversham! The I'd sit there in my long white dress, hating the world, with cobwebs on my fanny!

I wore black and sewed a cut out paper skeleton to be one of the skeletons from Funnybones. I have also been a Hobbit, a pirate and a cowboy. Think I have done my bit.

I would love to be a villain though, maybe Cruella De Ville

Mostly in GU24

I've had it up to HERE with friends' photos of their kids on Facebook. Most of them are film characters which angers me somewhat!

If I were to dress up though I'd be scrooge. Wouldn't take much lol

Bombadil is one of the worst features of the book - he's completely extraneous to the story, just some weird little meandering filling space.

Can be seen as a bit annoying, yes. But he has his place if only for the fact that he had been there since the beginning of the world, and would be there at the end, and all the wars and disputes and passages of time were meaningless to him. A metaphor for how 'life goes on' regardless. Or, the way that nature and the living world will always endure despite what goes on around it, and that some things endure and are more fundamentally important important.

Which means that 'he' is more important than the ring and the fate of anyone in the story.
