So I often see updates calling people for being fat or saying fatties should get down the gym blah blah blah

To me this is the same as racism sexism homophobia and yet people seem to be able to post horrid things about bigger people

If I saw a racist or homophobic update I'm sure that person wouldn't be still on the site

Is calling people for being fat acceptable. I mean we're all different and like different things. Surely this is the point of this site

Generally any offensive name calling can cause hurt.

Society seems to pick and choose what is acceptable it seems. For instance being called fat may raise an eyebrow but being called skinny isn't a problem.

It's a fine line between banter and snide remarks. How long have the Irish had to put up with "stupid paddy" jokes or Welsh sheep shagging? The list goes on. Knowing your audience is what matters.

Race, gender etc are not a choice. They are not unhealthy etc. Therefore people sometimes draw a distinction between them. However it is not very nice to be rude to someone in that way.

However offence is an invention and you can simply not be offended and ignore such insults.

Nothing changes in the world when you are offended so you way as well let it go.

Also you never know, maybe some criticism is justified. When I am offended or criticised, I tend to have an impartial think about whether they had a point.

Many more people have excuses for unhealthy fatness than have genuine reasons. You will see a lot of them on this forum. But at the end of it all. It is their own choice and decent people would not try to upset another unduly.

..very good. And most see the lighthearted banter for what it is..myself included. But it does not harm to pause for a few seconds and consider the individual you're talking to? For what it's worth. .I have had my hand in a sheep's vagina. ..but I was delivering triplet lambs at the time!!

Everyone on earth discriminates all the time. We would not achieve very much if we didn't.

Some discrimination upsets people some doesn't.

Some people when upset whine more than others.

It really is a mine field. Especially in today's knee-jerk offence culture.

I describe myself as fat and am not massively offended if other people do the same.

What I don't like is people using your weight as an insult against you - like "you're fat so you must be lazy and greedy" or when some people rant on about women's standards being too high on here because they're fat and wouldn't get a look in in the outside.

No it's not acceptable, other peoples bodies are nothing to do with you. I've not seen any updates like this in my feed luckily.

I can understand people being disappointed with what the site has to offer if they are looking for something else but you just need to keep that to yourself really or stop looking.

There's no point and nothing to be gained in being rude to anyone regarding anything...It's a way I like to be with everyone, regardless...

As for physical attraction, if you aren't fancying someone then we can move on without having to be rude to them...

It's not rude to say 'no thanks', but it is rude, and unnecesary, to say 'no thanks you fat fucker' or something equally hurtful.
