Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I've just switched energy providers, which was dead easy. Filled in a form, and that was it. But I've never switched or wanted to switch internet providers.

So do you switch (hurr hurr...sorry), or are you loyal to your service providers, come what may?

Saltburn

I use a gmail addy therefore no problem. I am with talktalk and I am very happy so I don't feel the need to switch.

Central

I don't use my broadband provider's email address, so it's been invisible when I've switched. A few minutes without service, that's all.

Just be mindful of required notice periods and minimum contractual periods too.

Always look at the cash-back sites, when buying new utility services, as there are often good sums of money involved. It's a separate topic, that allows you to be paid a lot of money, by ordering stuff online.

The only thing i switch is car insurance as prices quotes range into the £££s. Personally I have not got time or energy or desire to switch (not saying people who switch have alot of times on their hands etc)

Chams or Socials

I'm in the process of helping a colleague switch everything. His wife died 6 yrs ago & sorted all the finances. We've worked out we can save him @£170 a month

Having just got caught up in the erroneous transfer of the gas supply the switching process needs improving. Been an absolute nightmare to sort given we hadn't instigated it.

This happens quite a lot of the time, the companies use a database (xoserve) that is rarely updated to reflect the serial numbers and actual new addresses of properties especially new build plot numbers where as the electric database (ecoes) is generally updated daily to reflect new information.

Advice always make sure you give the correct serial number to the company you are going to and ideally the mpan number too unfortunately too many companies just want the agreement to move and will process without all the information just to get the "sale" which is what I'm guessing happened to whoever requested to move supplies and got your supply moved instead

Before anyone gets angry at me I don't work in the industry anymore and wouldn't even for 5 times the salary

I switch everything. Doesn't pay to be loyal in my opinion

Or at least check on a regular basis there isn't a better deal out there which is quite rare
