My preference is a pub meet or a meal with lots of chat and get to know you meeting.
Coming straight to your home is a hit and miss affair and oh so risky for someone who isnt your right meet.
Lots of chat usually decides how far you take a meet.
Where do you draw the line its so difficult now a days to meet some one.

I always meet in public first time - be that a pub, cafe or street corner.

The right place |
I tend to meet in hotels. I usually meet in the bar or a nearby pub/coffee shop. Then if it goes well its back to the hotel.
I did once meet a woman for the first time by coming directly to my hotel room. It was actually very sexy and it turned out very well.
But a bit of a risk. |

I tend to meet at hotels, or a local pub / coffee shop. I've had a couple of bad experiences having meets come straight to my home. Especially when one turned up a day later, unannounced, with bags!!
